If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know my work has always been about helping people feel better in their bodies, to have more energy, healthier habits, better mood and a sense of “feeling like myself again”.

But in the past couple of years, something kept coming up in my clients sessions. It wasn’t just about fixing a symptom or losing weight.
It was more about wanting to stay strong, clear-minded and full of vitality for years to come.

I realised that what most people in midlife want is to age well, and not just ‘get through’ this stage.

You want steady energy, better resilience, clearer thinking, and a body that will allow you to continue to be active and strong.

So my work is evolving to match this.
Going forward I’ll be focusing more on nutrition for vitality and longevity, grounded in functional medicine, hormone balance, gut health and the small daily habits that really move you forward.

As usual there will be no bs, no extremes, no fads.
Just evidence based support to help you age powerfully and feel more alive for longer.

If you’ve been feeling the pull to take better care of your future self, stick around.

More to come ❤️

A little collagen love …and a little treat for you 😘

Remember this photo?

Well, the love affair with Correxiko Collagen continues, and this time, I’ve got something to share with you!

As a Nutritional Therapist, I’m quite selective about the supplements I choose to take. And one of the reasons I love Correxiko’s marine collagen powder is its simplicity: 10g of pure hydrolysed marine collagen peptides per serving, without lots of extras.

Most people associate collagen with skin, hair and beauty, but its role in the body goes well beyond that. After all, collagen is the body’s most abundant structural protein!

And shile collagen supplements aren’t a magic wand for ageing (if only! 😉), there’s dome encouraging research into their potential benefits.

As I always say, no supplement can replace a nutritious diet, regular exercise, good sleep and all the other things that help us age well.

Now for the good news!

I have a 20% discount code to share with you! 🥳

Zara20

So, if you’ve been curious about trying Correxiko, here’s a little saving for you.

Because healthy ageing isn’t about turning back the clock. It’s about looking after ourselves, inside and out, at every stage of life ❤️

Today confirmed something I feel very strongly about.

I spent the day at a GLP-1 conference looking at the benefits of, limitations and, how we practitioners should be supporting people who use these medications.

Before anyone comes at me, I’m not against GLP-1s.

I just don’t think people should be handed an injection and left to figure the rest out themselves.

When your appetite drips, nutrition matters more, not less.

What you do eat needs to work harder: protein, fibre, micronutrients, hydration, alongside movement and resistance training to help protect muscle.

And then there’s the part I find just as interesting as a Health Coach:

What was driving your eating if it wasn’t hunger?
Stress? Habit? Comfort? Boredom? Reward?

Medication can change appetite but it doesn’t necessarily resolve everything underneath our relationship with food.

The goal shouldn’t be to simply eat less.
It should be to come out healthier.

If you’re taking a GLP-1 or thinking about it, and you want proper nutrition and behaviour-change support alongside it, DM me GLP-1.

Thanks @cytoplan_ for the very interesting day 🙏 by @zarastellanutrition

I spotted this while out shopping today.

£12 caught my eye, and as usual, my nutritionist brain, wanted to know what was actually in the bag!

Yes, it contains some lovely nuts like almonds, cashew, pecans and pistachios but 38% of the bag is raisins 🙄

I’m not arguing the sugar content of the raisins and so on ( paired them with nuts, they’re ok as a snack) and nuts are a brilliant source of healthy fats, fibre, protein and micronutrients.

But this is a great example of why I always say:

Don’t just look at the front of the packet. Turn it around.

“Natural”
“High in fibre”
“Healthy”

Ok, but they don’t tell you whether something is good value, right for you, or worth £12.

Would you pay for this or make your own?

If willpower worked, you wouldn’t keep having to start again.

My 21 Day Cravings Reset is about understanding what’s driving your cravings and learning what to do about them.

Food. Habits. Sleep. Stress. Mindset.

21 days. Practical changes. Real life.

We start 5th October.

Comment RESET and I’ll send you the details. by @zarastellanutrition

“Bread is bad for you”.

Is it though?

Apparently we’re still scared of bread! 🙄

You’ve seen me make versions of this before with red lentils and peas. This time: chickpeas!

Naturally gluten-free, 4 ingredients plus seeds , with protein and fibre. And it taste delicious 😋

One thing we won’t be doing on my 21 Day Cravings Reset is labelling whole food groups as “bad”.

We will be looking at what actually helps with cravings: proper balanced meals, enough protein, fibre, plant diversity, healthy fats, and better blood-sugar regulation.

Because getting healthier shouldn’t mean becoming scared of foods.

And if you can turn chickpeas into bread, why not? 😂

21 Day Cravings Reset starts 5th October. DM me RESET for details.

Healthy eating doesn’t need to be complicated.

This is tonight’s dinner. Nothing fancy.

Stuffed peppers with lentils. The teen had them with some rice, I added some leftover roasted veggies.

Plant protein, fibre, lots of colours. Proper , simple food and possibly not ‘scroll stopping’ 😂

One common mistake I see when people decide to ‘eat healthy’ is making it far too complicated.

You don’t need to spend hrs researching recipes or looking for trendy ingredients.
And you don’t need every meal to be Instagram perfect 😉

You need simple, balanced meals you enjoy and can make again and again.

That’s exactly the philosophy behind my 21 Day Cravings Reset.

Less nutrition noise. More getting the basics right.

We start 5th October.

I love science, innovation and anything that can genuinely help us to live healthier for longer.

But sometimes I think we’re making health far more complicated than it needs to be.

Master the basics. Then optimise.

What do you think?

Please don’t eat pomegranate just for your Akkermansia 😂

Pomegranate is having a bit of a gut-health moment, partly because its polyphenols have been linked with Akkermansia muciniphila, one of those gut bacteria everyone suddenly wants more of.

Interesting science? For sure!

But here’s my problem with nutrition trends:

do you actually like pomegranate?

Because if you don’t, I’m not going to tell you to force down because it’s’ good for your microbiome’ .

The same goes for broccoli, kale (🤮), kimchi, kefir and a few others.

There are far too many nutritious foods available for healthy eating to become an endurance test.

As a nutritionist, my job isn’t to create the scientifically ‘perfect’ diet on paper.

It’s to help you build the healthiest diet, you’ll actually enjoy eating and continue eating.

Because consistency beats forcing yourself to eat food you hate. Always ☺️

For the record, I genuinely love pomegranate ❤️ but I no longer eat kale 😂

What healthy foods do you eat even though you secretly hate it? 😂 👇 by @zarastellanutrition

Ok, I may have a favourite…😂

And no, I’m not posting this because I’m part of the Correxiko educational team. I’m posting it because I genuinely love this collagen and use it myself.

I’ve been taking it consistently for a while now and I’ve personally noticed a difference, particularly in my skin (hello, glow!) , but also my hair, nails and joints.

Is collagen magic? No.
Does it replace good nutrition? Absolutely not.
Do I think supplements should earn their place rather than fill a cupboard? Always!

I try a lot of products. Not everything impresses me. This one does. Hence the kiss 😂
