Meet the Maker Monday— Rebecca @zastany Wilson

Wilson is a Milwaukee based artist who focuses on weaving. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2009 and rediscovered her passion for fiber art through a weaving class in Milwaukee. She is the former director of the ABK Weaving Center and has taught weaving since 2016. Her current project is Zastany Handwoven Towels. Wilson has not met a color combination that scares her. by @zastany

I will be at Cozy Collective Saturday 3/1. I will be offering a mini workshops ( roughly takes 30-45 minutes) where participants get to weave on pre threaded looms. Spots are available for 1 or 2 people. Price varies depending on how many mug rugs you make, $15 for the first and $10 for each additional. Mug rugs/coasters will be finished and sewn during the week and can be picked up the following weekend at Cozy collective. Dm to reserve a spot. And remember to come shop all the members of the collective!

I say ‘handwoven’ but what i really mean is hand threaded/woven/wash/cut/sewn. Theres so many steps to make these towels and they are all done by me.

I will be restocking some halloween-esque towels and mats tomorrow (10/15) @cozy_collective_mke. I will also be manning the show 12-3 so come say hi!! by @zastany

It officially fall and today is Thursday, which means @cozy_collective_mke is open for the weekend! In case you don’t know, Cozy Collective is a tiny+cute+cozy little shared shop space in our neighborhood of Bay View. There’s over a dozen little businesses inside, and we all share the rent and responsibilities and it’s pretty much magic. Tomorrow (Friday) is Bay View Gallery Night (@bvgn.mke for more info) and one of my favorite nights of the year. We’ll be closing down our little block and hosting friends for an evening market outside. And I’ll be super stocking up the shop with all the scents— including some sneak peaks of our winter collection ❄️ just in case you want to smell any of the seasons in your home 🏠 There’s also a few Lilac candles left 💜 and @zastany towels (as pictured) in new color wars this weekend plus so much more

Cozy Collective hours are Thursday-Saturday 12-6 and Sundays 12-4 but open extra late Friday for Gallery Night (I think 9:30ish) 815 E Potter Ave. 🌕 taken in Bay View by @zastany

Fun Fall towels that will be ready for @bvgn.mke this Friday night!!!! I will be set up in front of @cozy_collective_mke starting at five! I will be doing my one day only CASH discount of $45 for towels! I only do sales 3 times a year so don’t sleep on it!! (My next sale will be after the holidays so stock up on gifts) by @zastany

Last weekend of summer, here’s a little almost-fall round up as we approach the equinox next week. Open today (Thursday) and tomorrow 12-6. Saturday is @bayviewbash and we will likely be opened some form of extended hours and we’re hosting friends outside for a Maker Market 11-5 💕 Hope to see you taken in Beth Eaton Pottery by @zastany

September is just around the corner!!! The fall edit @motherlion_bayview and @bvgn.mke market in front of @cozy_collective_mke are my two events for next month. I restocked the shop yesterday and am working hard to keep it stocked. by @zastany

🖤 @thekingofchalk made me a sign for my booth. Ive been doing less shows since being apart of @cozy_collective_mke so it made more sense to bring the sign to the shop. Its one of my most prized possessions🖤 by @zastany

Sew stack for tomorrows show! I will be back at the Racine Starving Artist Show for my 4th year. @betheatonpottery will be there too! Ive been working extra hard to make even more towels than last year! Currently i am at the same places i was last october.

I also dropped off some of these finish seafoam towels to @cozy_collective_mke yesterday 😉 by @zastany
