DEAR JUNETEENTH NJ,

Man, I don't even know where to start. This journey has been a beautiful one. This journey has taught me so much about myself and about life. It taught me how an idea can become a reality for yourself and others if you just put the work in and do it with love. In 2020, this idea was just a humble one. I just wanted to celebrate a holiday with my people. But God had other plans. God opened the door for many others to come and join, so that idea I may have thought was just for a few ended up being for thousands. God and the universe forced me to Think Bigger (word to @brownmillcompany) 🤎

Throughout this ride, I witnessed and went through a lot. This ride turned into a rollercoaster. So many highs, so many lows. But this journey gave me the confidence to feel like I can do anything. So, that alone, I wouldn't trade this experience in for anything else. I'm grateful for what this experience has taught me.

To all of the beautiful souls that came out to celebrate with us since 2020. I thank you. I thank you for the joy that you've brought to me and my loved ones. I thank you for making things happen that I didn't even know was possible. So many memories were created through the past 5 years that I can't wait to tell my children and grandchildren about one day. I THANK Y'ALL! 🫶🏿

With that being said, this was my last Juneteenth Celebration and I'll be stepping away from @juneteenthnj. I step away with nothing but love for everyone and the team that I was apart of. I thank all of the amazing individuals + partners below for coming together throughout the years so we can do amazing things for our people! We did something extremely special for JERSEY + our people so they can celebrate our independence! Without y'all, none of this would've been possible! I THANK Y'ALL!

@droppinjuels @talktohenryj @devinicobbs @sheltshotty @flygerian @showcasemontana dailyraay @fefeswrld @livenation @pncartscenter @americandream @libertystatepark + many others! 🖤

Everyone who knows me personally, they know my heart. Everything that I do, I do for others. That will never change. Super excited for what's next.

Love,
Zay 🖤 taken in New Jersey by @zayblacknofood

CELEBRATING MOTHERS 🖤

The last 24 hrs in North Carolina has been everything + more! Today, my incredible niece @ilovefood graduated with her bachelor's degree! From all of the times talking to you during tough moments + working as a young single mother raising a beautiful, respectful babygirl, to seeing you walking across that stage today! YOU DID IT! I can't express how I proud I am of you! You're a phenomenal mother, big sister and niece! Love you forever and always, kid! NEXT UP: MASTERS 👩🏾‍🎓

Nana! S/o to you for always being someone who has had my back like no other! Spreading quality time with my old lady is better than any club, brunch or vacation. I already had your name tatted but I feel like that wasn't enough so I had to get a picture of us tatted that was a reflection of our relationship. No matter what, you always have my back! Love you forever! 🖤

Loving life no matter if the days are ugly or gorgeous. My mind remaining the same no matter what battles the universe throws. Aging has been beautiful to me. Week 2 of year 29 ✨

Remain solid, treat the things you want to achieve with the same energy you use when you do something last minute, continue being the person that the universe loves and never fold 🖤 by @zayblacknofood

"Ma" is love. "Ma" is a teacher. "Ma" is going to get on your nerves about doing what you're suppose to do. "Ma" is going to hug you when you need it the most. "Ma" is the one who going to save the day whenever you need a superhero. "Ma" is love. "Ma" is everything.

@amandabrandofficial

I had the pleasure to work with two amazing mothers and BIG JUNE a few weeks back and putting these amazing photos together! @kalalafortunereed and @ro_jsmn are two young, amazing and cool Trinidadian mamas who are both amazing talents! It was super cool seeing them interact, talk about motherhood and their boys! And s/o to June for being superstar model and for using my arms to do flips! I had amazing time doing with you ladies! I'm learning every step of the way!🫡
