A TASTE OF HEAVEN RECAP

Last night I experienced the stage play adaptation of Aliyeonja Pepo (A Taste of Heaven), originally written by Farouk Topan. The play was showcased under the monthly Kalam Salama festival a beautiful space celebrating Swahili literature and storytelling.

So the performance was so owerful, inspiring, together with the networking moment , Indeed It was such an amazing night. I’m grateful for the experience and the creative community behind it.

My appreciations:

Tukutane tena mwaka ujao.

Flash Back to that one time NATALA by Kithaka wa Mberia was played on stage. A good time was had.

Natala is a thought-provoking play by Prof. Kithaka Wa Mberia, written in 1997, that explores deep social issues creating widespread debates in society. The play addresses the decay of moral values and cultural practices that hinder societal progress, such as the inheritance of widows and the abuse of women, including sexual violence.
