After 8 years of not riding since I blew my other knee out in Japan, we made it happen and hit the @hbfreeridewavebash and ended up with a 4th place finish. Did one test session in Oside the Sunday prior and said that will do for practice 🫡. So many emotions were had over the weekend. Was so stoked to see so many people from the freeride family and all the love that was shared in person and online. Was incredibly cool to show my kids for the first time in their lives what their dad used to get up to. Kristen rushing them to the beach having them yelling and screaming with excitement while I rode was everything for me and why I did all of this. I will say I came into the event with no intentions of accomplishing what I was able to. I figured I’d ride around, have a good time, and probably get eliminated early…contending for a podium was not a thought in my mind and suddenly, there we were… kinda right back where I left off… which is just insane. Walking away from the sport I loved so much was very hard for me. My injury’s didn’t give me that choice to move on, it was forced onto me. It’s all fine now but it had some heavy days. On the flip side It put things into perspective and made me focus on what is truly important in life which is my wife, kids, and providing for them. I got to put questions and doubt I’ve had in my head for years finally to bed like “can I do this anymore? Can my legs handle impact? Will I remember how to even do this?” After this weekend I don’t need to say “I used to ride” anymore, I can say I do ride! Hahaha. This shit made me smile so big and I love that. I have to thank Austin at @pelican_performance for putting this whole ski together and getting me back out there after all these years. He had the @dasawatercraft powered @norbertweber9 Light-Weight running like a champ all weekend and without him I wouldn’t have been there. I can’t thank you enough AL!Thanks to @salty_smokes for this event and getting me some parts of his own to get me out there. Riding at Huntington was a dream and hearing the crowd on the pier going crazy is something I won’t forget. Man what an awesome Saturday! Motobeach Classic / @redbullstraightrhythm put on by @superhooligans was a total riot! Took 2nd place in my Heat Race which sent me front row for the main. Snagged the holeshot and then in the following turn almost high sided hahahaha moved into 2nd and finished there. Stoked to leave there unscathed and on the podium. Super rad having my wife, kids, family, and friends all out there supporting me as well as @riznwild with a booth setup cheering me on. I love this shit. So fun sharing the track with the homies. Weeeellllll. Here she is. Grandpa’s CB750 chopper is complete and ready to ride to the @bornfreeshow this Saturday.

This has been a 6+ month on and off restoration since I acquired the bike about a year ago from the inheritance after my grandpa sadly passed away. New tires, new gaskets, new clutch, new chain, full rewire, new coils, wires and spark plugs, new grips, cleaned the fuel tank twice. Still need to clean the tank in the king and queen seat and I’m fighting a wasted ignition switch. It’s been an amazing experience to say the least. Keeping my grandpas spirit alive by getting this thing running. I know he’s looking down at the bike and is proud.

This bike is a 1974 Honda CB750 in a 1975 Machine Shop frame custom painted by Paul Burgess (RIP) in our home town of Lancaster CA. Santee oil bag and electrical box. A John Harmon Girder/Spirder front end that is extremely rare. Little John Prism fuel tank. King and Queen seat is a secondary fuel tank. This thing is so radical. Photo 9 is me as a baby sitting on the bike with my mom. Photo 10 is my grandpa with the bike. I have always loved this bike and motorcycles is something my grandpa and I bonded together with. He built a ton of awesome custom bikes in his day but this was the only one he kept. Last time this bike ran was 13 years ago, I got it going for their 50th wedding anniversary but all it did was fire up that night then sat again. Bike was last registered in 1995 so this bike hasn’t hit the road in almost 30 years! My grandparents used to ride this bike to San Francisco 👀.

I have a full build walkthrough in my highlights that is 3 parts. I should make a reel of it.
