In its 103rd issue, Art+ Magazine spotlights the MoCAF (Modern and Contemporary Art Festival) 2026 on its cover, featuring a special illustration by digital artist Marga Zablan-Ventinilla, better known by her artist name Zee Venti.

Renowned for an artistic style where gentleness and uncertainty coexist, Zee Venti created a cover illustration that pays tribute to the vibrant community behind MoCAF’s success. Rendered in her signature visual language, the artwork celebrates the participating galleries, featured artists, curators, partners, and the MoCAF team whose collective passion and dedication have shaped the festival into a thriving platform for contemporary art. Her illustration serves as a heartfelt tribute to the many hands and creative voices that have made the festival’s fifth edition possible.

With the launch of MoCAF today, July 3, Art+ Magazine reaffirms its commitment to uplifting the local art scene by highlighting emerging artists and Filipino artisans—not only through the festival itself but across its editorial and social media platforms. The collaboration between Art+ Magazine and Zee Venti reflects the spirit of MoCAF: an art festival that embraces uncertainty with gentleness, nurtures creative communities, and celebrates the diverse individuals and institutions that continue to shape the future of Philippine contemporary art.

This year actually started with me questioning my path as a creative and even wondering if illustrating was still for me. So I quietly went back to my traditional roots and started painting again, just for myself.

Interestingly, I got the message for this collaboration on the exact day I had set aside to paint. I just stared at my phone thinking IS THIS REAL???

The timeline was tight. To make things even more challenging, I was dealing with an injured ankle, an injured drawing hand, and a new Carpal Tunnel Syndrome diagnosis. (gurlie was suffering HAHA) I was literally still getting checked and undergoing tests just two days after I got the project. All by grace, I still had the best time working on this piece.

Soooo grateful I said yes. This is def one of the biggest highlights of my year. I’m very thankful for my husband, my family, my friends, and everyone who supported me and shared kind words 🤍

This was one of those silent prayers I didn’t even realize I had been carrying. God knew, and He heard.

I love how the Tagalog word for “rest” is rooted in the word “hinga,” which means “to breathe.” Oftentimes, we get so caught up in too many things that we forget to pause and simply be—to breathe and rest. Perhaps that’s all we really need in this chaotic world.

If you made it to the end of this caption, take this as your sign to pause and rest. Because maybe, just maybe, the kindest thing you can give yourself right now is a moment to breathe.
