It’s this Thursday 6:00pm Beirut time! (11am Ottawa time) We’ll be having a long chat, and drinking whiskey 🙂... I hope he’ll be wearing his Santa hat...check out his podcast, it’s really really interesting. I got to find out about so many local talents and people from the music industry through that thing!

Couple of months ago, an old and dear friend, @yasminejhayek who’s representing @beirutcityoflife and @matisseevents proposed that I gather 14 musicians who used to play in Gemmayze & Mar Mkhayel streets, and perform an 1h:30m concert, taking into consideration the situation the country is in, and I did. I’ve been practicing with my peers, while trying to overcome the COVID-19 restrictions, and we did. And because all of this wasn’t enough, one member got COVID, and we had to start rehearsals without him. He overcame it and tested negative 2 days ago. 🦾.

We will be performing originals and covers side by side on one stage!

Starts with a sound, a taste, how my skin felt, what that corner looked like, how it felt listening to that track over and over, then perform it again and again till I forgot how the original song sounded like, or how it used to make me feel.
Starts with a sound, gets me off balance, a look from a stranger, a sticky cookie wrap, how it smelled that morning, the gravel scrolling by my shoes as I looked down and kept walking away...

Yesterday, my government shot me with tear gas and bird hunting rounds on the face. I saw anger on the streets I’ve never witnessed before in my life.

An old pic of my bedroom wall.
Some songs made it, others are till this day still in the drawer.
