Op vrijdag 16 oktober gaat Knouf daarover verder in gesprek met indigenous studies-wetenschapper Laura De Vos tijdens Radboud Reflects: Are Rivers and Mountains Conscious?

🇬🇧 In Psithurism for the Pleiades, Adriana Knouf asks whether a reality we try to fully measure and explain does justice to everything we experience. Her starting point is the Pleiades, a star cluster people have attached stories to for thousands of years. The installation brings together seven 'worlds', from earth and water to air, electromagnetic fields and the cosmos. Knouf invites us to listen to the world around us and ask which forms of knowledge and consciousness we might be overlooking.
On Friday 16 October, Knouf continues this conversation with Indigenous Studies scholar Laura De Vos at Radboud Reflects: Are Rivers and Mountains Conscious? What if trees, mountains and rivers are active participants in the world, as many Indigenous cultures see them?
20:45 to 21:30, in English. Included with your festival ticket for that day.
On view until 19 October. Last tickets now on sale.

Are you wondering what a quantum computer is? Are you intrigued enough that you want to explore quantum computing but have no idea where to begin?

In the workshop Quantum Computing for €0, artist Adriana Knouf (@zeitkunst ) will teach you how to use publicly available quantum computers for no cost using open-source interfaces. You will learn the basics of quantum
computation, how to work with publicly-available interfaces, and even run a program or two on a real quantum computer.

Along the way we’ll also raise questions about the current hype around quantum computers and ask whether they will ever be able to deliver on their promise.

❗️ No experience in quantum mechanics, physics, or programming is required! If you have some Python programming experience that will be helpful, but
all code will be provided for you.

❗️ Please bring a laptop. The workshop will be done in English.

💡 Come a bit early or linger afterwards to explore the Explorations of Uncertainty exhibition and discover a range of artistic visions inspired by quantum theory.

🗓️ Thursday, January 22
🚪Doors open: 19:00
🕖 Start workshop: 19:30 – 22:00
💰Participation is free, but please register in advance. by @zeitkunst

🤗🤗 by @zeitkunst

They say identity: We say multitude
Exhibition duration: 14.11.2024 - 22.01.2025

Matter, nature and life are a vast, interconnected web of existences—molecules, atoms, bodies, stars—constantly transforming and transmuting into each other. This exhibition, named using the words of Paul B. Preciado in “We Say Revolution”, invites viewers to embrace the multiplicity and fluidity of nature and resist rigid categorizations imposed by Western structures. In “They Say Identity: We Say Multitude,” nature is viewed as a site of endless intersections, where, as Paul B. Preciado states, “the intersection is the only place that exists.” There are no fixed opposites; all beings continuously cross paths and transform, stabilizing temporarily as unique forms, thoughts, and practices before dissolving into new states. This perspective calls for a planetary revolution, a uniting of all living beings against restrictive, oppressing and exploitative norms.

Featured artist Adriana Knouf, PhD (NL/US), explores the entanglement of biological, technological, and cosmic entities. Knouf’s work, which has been displayed globally and aboard the International Space Station, delves into the fluid intersections between human, non-human, and cosmic life. As the Founding Facilitator of tranxxenolab, Knouf promotes the merging of trans and xeno entities, challenging the boundaries of identity and existence. Her exploration of time, matter, and the cosmos positions her work as central to the exhibition’s theme of dissolving fixed categories.

Join us for Not Rocket Science on Saturday, December 7 at Stroom — you don’t want to miss this! 🚀

Not Rocket Science invites contributors who use their practice to complicate, reimagine, or reflect on the scientific method. Not Rocket Science is inspired by Agustina Woodgate’s More Heat Than Light, which uses the principles of quantum communication.

Expect talks from:
- Harun Šiljak on quantum physics in pop culture
- Adriana Knouf & Venzha Christ on the occult origins of rocket science
- A screening of Onset by Anna Engelhardt

Take part in a special audience game by Kexin Hao with a chance to win books from Stroom’s bookshop! 🤍

Plus, don’t miss Quantum Connection at @instrumentinventors on Friday, December 6, where quantum mechanics meets art and education. Both events are part of Entangled Codes, Stroom’s exploration of technology, the body, and digital accessibility ✨.

Get your tickets via the link in bio! If you’ve got a ticket for Quantum Connection, enjoy a discount for Not Rocket Science. Availability is limited — don’t miss your chance to grab yours! 💥
