Sometimes one of the biggest factors to having a good result, or even just finishing a race, is what I like to call ABP “Always Be Pedaling”. This segment of @stetinaspaydirt required exactly that. I like to keep this mantra in mind when I’m racing and it’s more than a few times snapped me out of lulls in concentration and the task at hand. This is also why zone 2 training is so effective. It might feel fairly easy at the start but the continued pressure on the pedals adds up and you get used to keeping a steady constant power. Sometimes you just are a little off at an event. What matters is to do your best and push through the difficulties and leave it all on the race course. You might not have your best race but this resilience will pay off in your everyday life and the training to come. Successful racing always benefits from some help in the pits. Thanks @frednewc for the hand ups. Maybe a little miscalculation lost me a little time but overall very happy with the result. 12th overall and 1st in age group at the Silver Rush 50. Dialing in the details for the 100. Surprise W at the 12 Hours of Mesa Verde - Solo Open Men. Can’t be more happy after not even knowing if I could race after dealing with an injury.
