i’m still figuring things out, but things are looking up lately.

there’s still so much to do, so much to learn, and so much to change.

lots of loss and losing that’s still going to happen, i’m sure, but it’s nice to make room for good things to happen. it won’t always be hard.

change is terrifying until it starts to keep working out in your favor.

it’s been a year since i’ve made big decisions for myself - changing my daily habits, the people i keep close in my life, setting non-negotiable goals, working on my health and well-being, protecting my peace of mind, and even leaving my old career to slowly work towards my dreams and ambitions.

even though it had lows in the beginning after the biggest lows i’ve had for years, everything’s been going well, and it keeps going well. i must be doing something right then.

after all, we’re not meant to live a perfect life. i’ll just keep shooting my shot to live one i’ll be proud of.

giving life many second chances is very, very important. ♡

for a long time, i didn’t know how to live for myself, or anybody really. carrying so much pain and grief felt like just getting through the days was enough. being around people who were loud, lively and good with everybody, even if they weren’t good for me, would be enough. being where i felt comfortable and have grown used to should be enough.

eventually, the day will come when you’ll feel confident to just start over. and over. and over.

now, i like finding little things that make me want to stay around, and really live, not just be alive. so many places to see, people to love, things to learn, and so many little moments i haven’t experienced yet.

today is the birthday of someone i lost 5 years ago. she was (is) my favorite person in the world, and the one who loved and supported me the most. i like to think that she’s proud that i want to love and support myself now, the way she always would.

i hope whoever comes across this video will want to live for themself more too.

i used to think surviving was enough. now, i just want to get more out of this life than it has taken from me.

healing hasn’t been about forgetting grief. it’s been about learning to live again while still choosing joy, even in the smallest moments.
