It’s the last Saturday of the month, so it’s time for another #FightFord protest. Doug Ford’s policies irritate me. He promised that life would improve for Ontarians, but recent polls show most believe that was false. We face crises like rising class sizes, an underfunded healthcare system, cuts to OSAP increasing student debt, and poor wildfire management in northern First Nations. The government’s failure to address these issues affects us all. I oppose their misconduct. Until change occurs, we must fight back. P.S. I chose this theme because I’ve been playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and see parallels: we are like Avalanche against Shinra (aka the Ford government), fighting for Ontario, like Cloud’s planet. #WorthFightingFor #HamOnt #Community ✊🏽 by @zelda41

This evening, I attended a community gathering hosted by @kojoforward14 at Shawinigan Park. It was a fantastic opportunity for residents to connect with Kojo, explore the scenery and outdoor amenities of Shawinigan Park in Ward 14, and socialize with neighbours. Attendees participated in art activities and enjoyed a friendly game of soccer, which is Kojo’s favourite sport. During the event, we also revealed the campaign poster designed by @bvallesteros, featuring vibrant colours and inspiring imagery. The poster is so impressive that even Pikachu gives it his stamp of approval. Overall, I had a wonderful evening connecting with community members. After seeing their commercials on TV, I finally decided to buy the @manmade.official swim shorts, and they arrived on my doorstep today. I absolutely love it! This is my fifth consecutive Friday participating in @kojoforward14’s community canvass, and each time I’m reminded why I keep coming back. Tonight, we canvassed in the Fessenden neighbourhood, and I want to share a few reasons why these moments matter to me:1. Kojo is one of the most inspiring people I've ever met, and I’m committed to amplifying his voice in any way I can.2. It pushes me out of my comfort zone and allows me to explore new neighbourhoods in Hamilton.3. Canvassing helps me achieve a personal goal this summer: getting outside more.4. I love engaging with residents from all backgrounds and hearing about the issues that matter most to them.5. For the fourth Friday in a row, I joined @kojoforward14 for a community canvass! This evening, we were in the Mountview neighbourhood, knocking on doors and chatting with residents about what matters most to them. It’s always a blast! Plus, these canvasses help me close my activity rings for the day on my Apple Watch and get me out of the house and into the fresh air! And yes, we didn’t let the intense heat stop us; in fact, it was quite motivating. Reminder: Don’t forget to get out there and vote on October 26th! #HamOnt #Community by @zelda41

Today, I attended a protest organized by local residents outside Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton, as part of the #FightFordProtest movement. I strongly oppose Premier Doug Ford's policies, which include underfunding public education and privatizing healthcare services. It was encouraging to see many fellow Ontarians protesting alongside me, demonstrating our collective discontent with his administration. Notably, the protest took place near Hamilton Mountain, where I live, making it personally meaningful. I am concerned about Ford's actions and their impact on our community and province. 3 for 3! This is my third consecutive Friday participating in a community canvassing event with @kojoforward14. On this occasion, we focused on San Antonio Drive, Karen Crescent and San Pedro Drive in the Mountview neighbourhood to maximize our outreach to residents. We knocked on dozens of doors, engaging with community members in conversations to (re)introduce Kojo’s name and emphasize his qualities as an ideal candidate to represent Ward 14 as their city councillor. During these discussions, we addressed a range of urgent issues affecting the community, including infrastructure development projects, public transportation services, and safety concerns, fostering meaningful dialogue and building trust. Not only are these community canvases enjoyable, but they also challenge me to step outside my comfort zone and explore parts of Hamilton I’ve never visited before. Remember, election day in Hamilton is October 26th, so make sure to get out there and vote! #HamOnt #Community #ShowMeTheWorld by @zelda41
