Like how was this 10 years ago?! I promise I legit still feel 16 sometimes. (Until i meet a 16 year old😉)

It’s crazy how much life can change….It feels like just the other day you were teaching me how to drive the Land Rover on your farm, and now, 10 years later, we both somehow live in the Netherlands on the other side of the world.

Life truly is a journey full of unexpected twists and turns, but I guess that’s just the way life goes. So grateful ….to get to experience it all. 🤍 by @zelien_katrien

I have quite a few passion projects, but one of my favourites will always be combining illustration and baking. I love experimenting with mixed media and seeing how different creative worlds can come together.

If this inspires you, save it and try it out yourself 🦋

Follow along for more of my creative work…illustration, art, branding, content, baking, traveling, and everything in between.🎨

I also had the chance to meet the incredibly talented @mereltuk : photographer, videographer, world traveler, and creative, and the founder of @deltagoud 🧡 Over the summer we painted the beach office together, and I got to do the rebrand.

I’m excited to be part of a space where I get to design brands, create content, and explore different creative directions. It feels good to use my skills in so many forms and keep growing along the way. by @zelien_katrien

Throwback to Inktober two years ago….Here are still some of my favourites!✒️

Every day @Inktober gives you a prompt, and you create a drawing using only ink…as big or small as you want.

Definitely recommend it if you want a reason to get creative again this October. Have a look at @inktober by @zelien_katrien

Rooibos milk tart 🥧

Ingredients

* 4 cups milk
* 2 rooibos tea bags
* 3 eggs
* 1 cup sugar
* 3 heaped tablespoons cornstarch
* 3 heaped tablespoons flour
* A pinch of salt
* 50 g butter
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 ready-made tart crust from Albert Heijn
* Cinnamon to decorate

You can also make a crust with crushed cinnamon biscuits from Albert Heijn and melted butter.

Method

1. Bake the ready-made crust for a few minutes until golden, then let it cool. For a biscuit crust, mix the crushed biscuits with melted butter, press into a tart dish and chill.
2. Whisk the eggs, sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt together until smooth.
3. Warm the milk with the rooibos tea bags. Remove both bags just before the milk boils.
4. Slowly whisk the hot milk into the egg mixture. Pour it back into the pot and stir over medium heat until thick.
5. Stir in the butter and vanilla, pour into the crust and refrigerate until set. Decorate with cinnamon.

Grande Randonnée 58 in the French Alps.

What a beautiful hiking trail…. (Net wow!)…Being surrounded by mountains and feeling God’s presence in it all made me realise how small we are, and how much there is to appreciate in the simple things in life like a good mattress and a warm cup of coffee!
