10 years. A decade.

Today marks 10 years since my life got thrown into a trajectory i never could have foreseen. The last time I acknowledged this anniversary was 5 years ago. And where this experience has broken and rebuilt me in ways I never thought I could survive, it has also opened a world to me I may never have been able to experience. So on this anniversary I’m not going to go into detail on the struggles, I am going to show y’all the incredible places and experiences I have had the blessing to receive over the last 10 years….

I got to celebrate my 30th birthday by launching 30 lanterns into the night sky with my dearest friends.

I got to snowboard in British Columbia Canada.

I got to climb mountains in CO and saw where sand meets mountain peaks.

I got to go snowboarding at Mt Hood for dang near a decade.

I got to go visit my city of Brotherly Love where a lifelong friendship was born.

I got to buy a camera and took SO MANY snowboarding photos.

So.many.snowboarding photos.

I got to go to Europe for the first time…

visiting France walking thru the Louve,

seeing a cathedral south of Paris I dreamed about visiting for years,

visiting childhood friends at their home in Switzerland,

and hearing His Holiness Pope Francis Azizi speak at the Vatican while visiting the tomb of a woman (only 1 of 5 and only second to not be a saint) buried there.

I got to say goodbye to my best friend in the world after almost 14 years of the most loved and truly LIVED life together.

I got to go to Bali with a bunch of BABES.

I got to live on the coast of california and see the sun set and rise for 45 days straight.

I got to get a tattoo to remind me to always think pretty thoughts.

I got to conquer my fears.

I got to buy myself a HOME.

I got to do SO MUCH SNOWBOARDING with my deepest companions.

I got to watch my best friend marry the love of his life.

I got to go to the UK and Scotland where Unicorns are their official national animal.

So.much.SNOWBOARDING!

I got to close the chapter on my long time career with the best humans to ever work with.

I started my career over at 35 years old and found a new purpose.

IT’S DUGS’ 2nd BIRTHDAY!!! These past two years have been some of the best of my life all because this little dude came into it! We have traveled across the country TWICE, seen the snow to the desert and all the animals in between. He even bright us home a kitty one year ago. I couldn’t be more grateful for this little family of fluff i get to call my own. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME!! You’re the bestest boy ever! by @zenjen_

I was blessed to grow up in a Cowboy Ski Town that was on the PRCA circuit. Once upon a time i was a hobbiest action sports photographer. Photographing a rodeo is an action sport that moves in ways that has humbled me as a photographer, its faster with little predictability. Throw on a manual focus only camera and these have been the funnest, most challenging frames to capture. Huge THANK YOU to all the competitors, human and animal, for such incredible courage, grit, and passion. And to @lonemountainranch for organizing a space where community flourishes! Nights in the arena light a fire in my soul, and make me feel right at home. by @zenjen_
