Dinner with childhood friends. I have known these ladies over 50 years!!! Yvonne, far left, is my first friend. We met when we were both 4 years old in 1969. My family had just moved to GA and she lived across the street. While we four may not have stayed in close touch that entire time...you know...life...
Its a gift to have lifelong friends you can reconnect with. by @zenkathikes

I got out of the house Friday to see Lu. ❤️‍🔥
I never miss her when she's in town.
She and her band were incredible.

I was lucky to spend a bit more time with my girl, @suzanne_brunet before she goes back to LA. I also got a great hug from my friend, Barb Carbon 🤗 and finally met her lovely partner, Kris. It was a beautiful night.

My dear friend and adventure partner, Lisa Foster @karma_is_a_dog has overcome adversity and health issues which would stop most people in their tracks. I am in awe at her resilience, her drive, her positivity, generosity and kindness.

Tomorrow she is leaving for a bucket list hike with her dear sister.

Please wish her a safe journey and happy trails as she embarks on an absolutely EPIC adventure - hiking the 500 mile El Camino de Santiago!!!!

Lisa -

May the road rise smoothly to meet your boots,
May the wind blow gently through the Meseta.
May the yellow arrows guide you at every crossroads,

No matter what life throws at me. One day at a time.
If I can...you can.

I am not looking for atta girls or accolades. The last few years have been absolutely brutal on every possible level, but there is nothing that will make me pick up a drink again. I am posting for the alcoholic who still suffers, for the one who thinks there is not a way out. There is hope. You can change. You can heal.

Proof of Life 2

My after-work walk at #myfavoritemonadnock
The woods are greening with the first signs of Spring........and
I am fascinated by the reflections in pools of water after a night of hard rain.

I have been walking from Hahn Woods to Lullwater after work to try keep myself moving. Recovery from 2024-2025 is still challenging. I string the different trails together to try to walk a bit over 3 miles. Today was shorter as my knee said "nope" just as I got to Lullwater Lake.

I dislike the part of the trail behind Yerkes and its sad to see the dams of trash in South Peachtree Creek.
But....

There is still beauty.

The property used to belong to Walter Candler, Asa Candler's son. Asa was the founder of Coca Cola. The Lullwater Preserve is now part of Emory University campus and the old Candler mansion houses the University President. I did not take photos of it but the architecture is impressive. The stone tower is the 100 year-old hydroelectric tower which once powered the property.

I am grateful for our forested trails in the city of Atlanta, as its been difficult to go North to the mountains the last several months. by @zenkathikes

3x a charm. @walkforpeace.usa passed in front of my home tonight. I heard the sirens and bolted out of the front door where I saw the lead motorcycle cops parked in front of my mailbox.

Minutes later....there they were!

Please forgive my yelling. The people in cars were asking questions.

Today I sat with four kind strangers on the corner of Candler Road and Park Drive for 3 hours in 40- something degree weather to see the Walk for Peace monks again. Today was quieter: reverent and prayerful as they walked past us. No yelling, cheers or screaming; rather a quiet murmuring of gratitude as they quickly walked past.

One of the monks gave me a flower as he passed, blessing with "May you be at Peace"

I also met a woman named Hope.

They are staying near my neighborhood tonight.

We parked and walked almost 2 miles to the @walkforpeace.usa monks, then fell in behind them and walked with them and the crowd to Southlake Mall. We were not able to get into the Morrow Center, but the experience of walking with them ( whew, they were FAST) was profound and meaningful. I felt I needed to do this after this challenging year...to participate in some small way. The energy of the massive crowd was electric. There was so much love everywhere. This was the arrival. Oana Tataru Hogrefe got some amazing photos, too, but they are hers to share.
