In 1993 the Swiss and German demo groups Alcatraz and Interactive released the demo "Stop Fascism". The topic seems still relevant after over 30 years.

Cannon Fodder - by Sensible Software

I remember playing it back then and once borrowed it to the son of friends of my parents. I never saw it again 😟
But now I have finally an original and can play it again after 30 years 😂🎉

Swipe left for unboxing- and loading-video. Floppy sounds included (sound on 🔊).

This post is again spon... proudly presented by #AmigApril - a hashtag hosted by @blueyakk_retrocomputing and myself. Feel free to join in with your preem Amiga content 👌😉

It has come to my attention that Atari turns 50 these days. Now it begins that we celebrate the 50th anniversaries of retro gaming stuff. Soon there is the 50th anniversary of Mario and shortly after that the 50th anniversary of Half-Life. Time flies ⏳😱

Nevertheless, here is a nice shot of my Atari Wall of Carts 😀

A new addition to the collection. Finally I closed a gap. Back then I only owned the box of the Star Craft expansion Brood War. For some reason my copy of the main game came without a box and on a hand written disk 😅

We played Star Craft a lot on Lanpartys back then and it might have influenced me a little. At least my nickname 😊

The famous opera scene from Final Fantasy VI. On an CRT - how it looked back then on the SNES. This is the Pixel Remaster of the game, with actual English singing, which would not have been possible back then on 16 bit hardware.

This part was really awesome. I was completely mind blown when the singing started :D

Happy 30th Birthday, Quake. On June 22 1996 the shareware episode of Quake, the first real polygonal 3D shooter was released.

I remember getting two burned CDs from a friend sometime in late 1996. One with Duke 3D and one with Quake. I just got my own PC and set up a direct connection with a null modem cable to the family PC to play Quake against friends. Basically my first Lanparty.

Here is me playing Quake for the first time in a long time.

Wow. Just wow!

I've never played Final Fantasy VI before. Or any FF. But I knew about the famous Opera scene in FF6.
This must have been totally mind blown back then, on the 16bit SNES. Even without the voices.
I play the Pixel Remaster, where they recorded actual singers, which is even more awesome. I was mind-blown too, when I reached this part of the game yesterday. Totally unexpected 🤩

We are the Anomaly - by Extend and Genesis Project, a C64 demo from 2025.

I went through some recent C64 demos and this one got stuck. Awesome tune and it plays really nice on the lighting of the C64U.

The whole thing in a better video player: https://tube.fediverse.games/w/pPER5YAoLqubEGKTLF2xSG

And sorry for the screen being out of focus. Its only the first couple of seconds :D
