If you are in London, don’t get house renovation work done by OLBC, Oxford & London Building Consultancy. Epically awful.

What is your name? Sir Reginald of Tooting; What is you quest? To find some vegan cheese in sustainable packaging; What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? Is that a not yet recycled swallow or should i check locally? What, I don't know, Waaaaahhh.

I realise that i have not posted for a few weeks but now back by popular demand.*

I have been on a long and arduous journey (on some occasions even going as far as page 3 and 4 of google search) to find some vegan cheese suppliers that use recyclable packaging. And it's been tough, at one point i thought there would be more chance or seeing England win a penalty shootout. But i have finally found some.

Interestingly the first brand @iamnutok i found while having a lovely pizza @4hundredrabbits in Crystal Palace which is a pizza chain that deserves to be more well known. Their "Dirty Vegan" pizza is very good.

@iamnutok produce a variety of cheeses but the first i have tried is their vegan Feta "Fetamorphosis". I think taste wise it is pretty much spot on. consistency wise it's a little more "squiggy" but I think it works. Price wise it is a bit expensive but that comes with the territory of these niche suppliers.

I will post on a few of their other cheeses and other suppliers in the coming days. Stay tuned.

Balance has been returned to the force. Darth Clarke and the Droid Army is trundling back north empty handed and Jedi Master Obi-Wan-Nil Southgate is back in control.

Some of his Jedi mind tricks were amazing such as playing Rice for 45min while making him totally invisible to the crowd. "This is not the holding midfielder you are looking for"

Before the Empire comes back and kicks our butt in round 2 lets celebrate with one last yoghurt review.

I promise this is the last for while. You've had enough, I've had enough and even the yoghurt mentioned to me the other day that it is getting a bit awkward.

So this is a @sainsburys own brand Soy yoghurt. As mentioned before good to see supermarkets producing these kinds of products (hopefully on a larger scale) and fully recyclable.

This is however pretty high up on the sugar scale which is less appealling to me versus some of the alternatives but those with a sweet tooth (wierdos) may like it. But who am I to judge.

In summary the patented @zero_wasteman sugar scale is as follows. Most sugary at the top.

Sainsbury's
Alpro Soy Plain
Koko Plain Yoghurt
Coconut Collaborative
Alpro Soy Sugar Free

So there you have it. I'm off for a well earned Steak and Chips........ by @zero_wasteman

Has life been feeling empty recently? Wondering about what was missing but couldn't put your finger on it? Has your view of Gareth Southgate changed from him being one of the most successful England Managers of all time to a tactically clueless nincompoop with an odd penchant for sartorial elegance based on just one match?

Well never fear I am back with more non dairy yoghurt options so the wait is over.

The most recent is from @koko_coconutuk which is for those not paying attention Coconut flavoured. This brand has a bit more coconut punch vs @coconutcollab so depending on how you feel about the flavour should drive your preference. @koko_coconutuk also make milk, margarine and surprisingly cheese which I will need to try.

All fully recyclable as well.

Interestingly they highlight that they are soya free so there is clearly a sub discussion around which non dairy alternative is better deserving a post of its own I think

There is no perfect solution. Coconuts are obviously grown in hotter regions, requiring land and displacing other plants. Whether they require more or less resources than other options I don't know at the moment and clearly "what's the average yoghurt yield from your nuts?" is the kind of question that needs to be asked very delicately.

I will do further research. by @zero_wasteman

Next up the Coconut Collaborative @coconutcollab

Tastes of Coconut (FYI this kind of insight is why I am an influencer and you're not), thicker than the @alpro stuff and interestingly double the calories if that matters to anyone. I guess this is just Soy Vs Coconut more than anything.

@coconutcollab mainly do coconut based products (I'm on a roll here) but do have an Oat yoghurt as well (don't tell anyone). As well as Yoghurt they do desserts and Ice Cream.

And again, broken record alert, 100% recyclable packaging........ by @zero_wasteman

As part of my quest to get my family to despise me, I mean find sustainable products, I have found another couple of non-dairy yoghurt options to try.

First one is from @alpro and their "simply plain" Soya yoghurt. Nice mild taste but perhaps a touch sweet for me. They do a no sugar version that may work better.

Colour wise also looks more like ordinary Yoghurt which maybe important to some.

They also do Oats, Almond and Coconut versions.

Also comes in 100% recyclable packaging. Again, and asking for a friend, why can't 95% of manufacturers do this? by @zero_wasteman

When Marjorie Stoat was penning the timeless lyrics to her classic song 'Pop goes the weasel' she was probably reminiscing about the time she pawned her coat to buy wooden sunglasses. Or atleast that is how I have just edited Wikipedia.

I needed some new sunglasses and looking around for some non plastic alternatives found @sixtysixco and thought i'd give them a try. They make sunglasses out of a variety of wood types and also pursue a nunber of sustainability initiatives.

For example for every order they are committing to planting 20 trees. They've partnered with Trees for the Future to support their social and tree planting projects.

Packaging layers were perhaps one more than really necessary but apparently it is all recycled and recyclable materials. You can even send back old glasses for recycling to get a 30% discount on your new pair.

They also happen to make me look hugely suave and sophisticated which is a bonus.

So if you have perfectly workable sunglasses then stick with what you have. However, if you do need some for this summer then check them out. by @zero_wasteman
