Woodcut is a process that leaves little room for hesitation. Each line is carved by hand, in reverse, into a block of wood before being inked and transferred onto the fabric. Once a line has been cut, it cannot be undone. The image takes shape through a series of deliberate decisions, with each mark carrying its own weight. It is a fitting technique for a work concerned with something as complex and difficult to define as love.

@euripides.papadopetrakis carves love in its entirety. It’s in the pelican’s sacrifice, the embrace, the handshake, the flaming heart. And it’s in the tear, the dagger, the shell and the bitten apple, all ringed by thorns. It’s a universal force that unites, gives life, protects, wounds and ultimately reaches beyond the self.

The ‘Synenosis’ scarf is the centrepiece of Enosis, the A/W ’26 collection, which explores love in its many forms, from romantic desire to friendship, maternal care and devotion. Created in conversation with Zeus+Δione creative director @mariosschwabstudio, it continues the dialogue they began with the Chimère scarf, bringing together the visual language of Euripidis’s woodcuts and the ideas at the heart of the collection.

For inspiration, @euripides.papadopetrakis looked to medieval manuscripts, where images often carried meanings as layered as the texts beside them. The ‘Synenosis’ scarf brings together a cast of symbols that might seem at odds at first glance, including a flaming heart, a tearful eye, a shell, a dagger and a bitten apple. There are embracing figures, too, alongside thorny branches and falling drops. Some suggest tenderness and desire; others point towards pain, vulnerability and sacrifice.

A 1969 costume design sketch by Greek avant-garde composer Jani Christou for his ritualistic work Mysterion.

Christou found the five-line stave “insufficient”, so he invented his own notation, with symbols and graphic instructions that record action as well as sound.

Good tailoring outlasts the seasons. The ‘Pisti’ blazer, double-breasted with peak lapels, is cut in burgundy wool and paired with the pressed ‘Tama’ trousers. Look closer at the bust, where an embroidered jacquard detail recalls the pocket scarf of classic menswear.

Sunday’s Authentic | What to Wear When the City Turns Autumnal

The best thing about autumn in Greece may be that, when it finally arrives, it gives you an excuse to dress with a little more intention after the spontaneity of summer. The ease of total denim, given a more polished treatment. The ‘Dianthos’ cape is cut from virgin wool and linen, with the relaxed structure of denim and a softer, more refined finish. Tucked into the matching ‘Tama’ trousers, it draws the waist in before falling into a wide leg. The green suede ‘Alpha’ bag adds a considered flash of colour.
