LIFE IS GOOD! I had the unique opportunity to spend the last week in Hawaii with my wife and dad thanks to the incredible work of @roundofalifetime - for me it wasn’t just the round of a lifetime, but the trip of a lifetime. Filled with core memories bringing me back to my childhood golfing with my dad when everything seemed dark, to experiencing near death with my person by my side, @heathernfisher - and now, coming full circle with a little girl on the way, I am even more grateful. @roundofalifetime is doing amazing work, allowing people to experience something tangible, all for a cause that comes from the heart. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! by @zgpg2

Zach Gotlib, our 25th Round of a Lifetime recipient, spent this past weekend in Hawaii taking in some of the most unforgettable views in golf. From time on the course to time with family, this trip delivered on every level; but one moment stood above the rest.

After being told at 10 years old he couldn’t play sports, golf became an outlet for Zach and a way to connect with his dad. Twenty years later, the two were back on the course together, joined by his wife and their first child on the way.

Just 1.5 years removed from Zach’s last surgery, it was a moment that put everything into perspective.

Another unforgettable Round of a Lifetime.

25 rounds. 25 stories that remind us what really matters. Meet Zach Gotlib, the 25th recipient of Round of a Lifetime. Born with a congenital heart condition, Zach has faced more than most
undergoing multiple open-heart surgeries, including an emergency procedure in November 2024 to treat an aneurysm, endocarditis, and valve failure.

After 13 days in the hospital, he came away with something stronger than ever: perspective. Golf has always been his outlet. When competitive sports weren’t an option, the game became a way to connect with his dad, with himself, and with a sense of calm and competition that never left him.

On May 31st, Zach will tee it up at Kapalua.
This round is a reflection point. A celebration. A moment to take it all in, everything Zach has overcome, and everyone who’s stood beside him along the way. We’re honored to be part of your story, Zach.

Today marks 1 year since the second time my life was saved with open-heart surgery. Today I returned to the place where that miracle happened. So much has changed in just 1 year. This is a reminder of how precious life is, and how important it is to enjoy it. Use caution when viewing the last image! by @zgpg2

6 months ago I had emergency open-heart surgery. Today, I walked back into the hospital that saved my life for my 6 month check up, and everything is going great! Today was a reminder of how lucky I am. Life is short. Life is fast. Remember to slow down and appreciate all you have, because someone would give anything for it. taken in The Mount Sinai Hospital by @zgpg2

This is not a pity post. This is a post about how precious life is and how lucky we are. It’s not that I have more to appreciate this Thanksgiving, but rather I can now see how much I always should have been thankful for.

13 days - 13 days in the hospital, 7 days in the ICU, 1 open-heart surgery and 1 pacemaker surgery. I remain the luckiest guy in the world. But I am not unique. Every day people are going through challenges of their own.

When you’re knocking on death’s door you have a lot of time to think about what’s important in life. Although this was my second open-heart surgery, this one made me realize just how much I had to lose. But it shouldn’t have taken open-heart surgery to do that.

I can’t ever properly thank my surgical team @mountsinainyc for saving my life. I also can’t put into words how fierce and brave @heathernfisher is - she amazes me everyday and I am forever grateful for her. She showed me what it means to truly love. My family and friends have shown me so much love and support - I will always cherish them.

I hope we can all take a step back and appreciate all that we have, even the things we never think about, like eating, walking, laughing, smiling, talking and loving. These are things many people don’t have the luxury to do. Be kind - you never know what someone is going through. Hug hard, smile often, laugh deeply and tell people what they mean to you. taken in The Mount Sinai Hospital by @zgpg2

14 years ago I was granted a second lease on life after having open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve.

Unfortunately, several weeks ago I began to experience strange symptoms and was admitted to the hospital. Today we found out I have endocarditis - an infection of my valve, leading to my readmission to the hospital, and ultimately the need for my second open-heart surgery in the next few days.

Since my first surgery, my North Star has always been “perspective”. It is because of that perspective that I am constantly reminded of all that I’ve been lucky to achieve, witness and be part of over the last 14 years.

Our feeds are filled with division - particularly today, over a vote. I am not being political, but I can promise you, when you’re going through something that is life or death, who someone voted for means absolutely nothing. The perspective to understand that no matter what you disagree on and no matter how consequential you feel it may be is not what’s important, but rather whether someone is a good human being is, will make you a better person too. I’ve witnessed firsthand the love and support from good people, including family, friends, and even strangers.

Don’t push people away. The world could use every good person it can find. Time to get my third lease on life! by @zgpg2
