Eddie and I's story is my absolute favorite story to ever tell because it was a slow burner, just like my favorite books. We never rushed, yet we never felt like it was going slow. It simply was and had its own pace.

Through this past year, Eddie has been my rock and my companion through the last half of my Masters, the entire process of my thesis, navigating 2 cities, juggling 2 jobs + school and social life. Eddie has dealt with my mental breakdowns and my darkest moments, and he's never asked me to "keep it together" or "toughen up". Eddie lets me cry, break down and hugs me while I'm in pieces and figuring out how to put myself back together. Eddie never judges me and when I think I'm making a fool of myself, he tells me "that's why he loves me". Whenever I feel like I'm a failure, Eddie reminds me the sun will be there tomorrow even if I stay on bed a little longer. When I laugh with my incredibly loud laugh, Eddie out-laughs me with his evil witch laugh, and we both end up in tears of happiness. When I feel at loss because of a future that hasn't come yet, Eddie doesn't freak out, he sits down to help me dissect my nonexistent fears. When I read something online, Eddie can't wait to hear it. And we spend about an hour each sparing no details about how our days went. Eddie doesn't do "long-story short". Eddie lets me yap for hours and still remembers everything I said. Eddie has a list of things I like in his phone so he won't forget. When Eddie and I had our first coffee date, he asked if he could hold my hand. And I'm so glad he's yet to let go of it.

And wow what a season finale!! 😌 This time, hosts Daisy Morales and Tony Pina came together with the UTEP Music Department, Professor Abel Mireles and some of his talented students to bring this very special showcase! ✨

We would like to give a special thanks to everyone who helped us bring this showcase to life ✨ Thank you also to all the amazing talent, Christa Briana, Paris! The Band, and The Veronas for making this showcase so special and one for the books

30 was a year full of challenges, transitions and constant change. And at some point in all that…I lost my will to live.
So today, I am celebrating not just the incredible times these pictures show but the in between moments where I could not stop crying and when I realize my therapy was not enough anymore.
Today I celebrate that I did not stayed 21…or 30.
Today I celebrate the uncomfortable talks and the awkward moments that opened doors to conversations over the phone that feel like hugs at a distance.
Today I celebrate that I am able to ask for help and take it without fear of judgement.
Today I celebrate my body, my mind and my heart.
& to the souls outside of my body that have embraced me in their circles & I get to call friends, the new & the old ones, thank you. (s/o to Sara for enabling my humiliating Twilight obsession).
The local talent that has entrusted me & the show to be the safe space where music & community flows, thank you, you’ve healed something in me I didn’t know was broken🖤.
