Today, we take a major step towards unlocking Web3 for all with the release of the #Aventurine proto-testnet and proto-mainnet – the final step before the mainnet launch of Zilliqa 2.0!

Here’s what’s new:

🔗 EVM-Scilla interoperability: Seamlessly use Zilliqa tokens as ERC-20 tokens.
📈 Staking contracts: Test staking contracts as we set the stage for Zilliqa 2.0’s staking portal.
💻 dApps & tokens: Developers can experiment with existing tokens and dApps on the proto-mainnet.

Aventurine also sets the stage for cross-chain interoperability, including a bridge between Zilliqa 2.0 and Cardano powered by Wanchain. Validators such as LSP are already onboarding as we pave the way for the mainnet launch of the new, upgraded network.

Last month was packed with progress as we gear up for hashtag Zilliqa 2.0.

The next part of the Zilliqa 2.0 roadmap, Aventurine, is fast approaching. Our community also passed a voting proposal to halve mining rewards, with the $ZIL that was previous rewarded instead being put towards a Community fund for projects in the ecosystem.

Web3Auth is now also live on the Zilliqa 2.0 proto-tesetnet, lowering the barriers of entry for new users of the projects that implement it.
