I really didn’t want to get in…

Cold and grey water, rain and no sun in sight🌧️, but this ended up being so much fun!

With the Spartan Sprint World Championships coming up it’s time for specific open water training!🏊‍♀️

Luckily the scenery of Hvar with crystal blue water and sunny skies are just a few weeks away!🌊🐠🪸🌅

🚀🧗‍♀️Training at @stuntwerk_rosenheim

Loved flying and climbing around here! So nice to visit new places whilst training and meeting new people!🤩

After weeks of training on the trails in the mountains⛰️ my hands weren’t completely ready for obstacles, but I just couldn’t resist swinging over and over again😬😅

🤩Already a week ago!
My first race of the @utmbmontblanc YCC in Courmayeur 🇮🇹

The race start and finish is in this pretty cool mountain village🏘️ and the course goes up into the mountains with a dramatic view on the big peaks of Monti Bianco/Mount Blanc massive.🏔️

This 15k trailrace with so many strong mountain-trained athletes is a new kind of race for me. The field was fast and after spending a whole summer travelling and racing OCR races and EC’s, WC🌍 I wasn’t fully trained for this type of race. But totally ready to give it my all!😁

The climb up felt like forever but the downhills always feels so worth it.🚀 And luckily I trained downhill running a lot the past couple of years. I always love this fly feeling and with this I was able to take over some athletes here and finished 19th!🎊

Done and dusted but so happy with this result and eager for more!💪

4 days until my first trail race in Courmayeur!🇮🇹

My first official trail race in the mountains!🏔️
Excited for the race and ready for the burn in my legs🔥🦵🏻and flying down the hill again!🚀

Hopefully I’ll qualify for the second race in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc the next day!🇫🇷🤞

Luckily I was able to pre-run the course this summer together with @hannes_vanhullebusch 😊 by @zilver_werps

🌍 World Championships OCR Short Course Elite

It was my first World Championship in the Elite category!
Last year I came home with a double🥇 for both this distance and the standard race in my age group.
And this year I decided to start with the best athletes, not just my age.

There weren’t a lot of obstacles on the course, so the fast runners had an advantage with long running parts and not so technical rigs. With this in mind I’m happy with my results!

So many good athletes participated, I raced hard and ended up with an 19th place!

I came into the European OCR Championships in Mantova 🇮🇹 trying not to put too much pressure on myself. But deep down, I felt ready. The last few weeks of training had been going really well, and after racing the 400m several weekends in a row, I felt strong and confident on the start line.💪

My first run didn’t go as planned because of sweaty hands✋, but luckily we had a second qualifying run. The goal was to finish with one of the 12 fastest times to move on.

The second run was a completely different story. I felt faster, smoother, and everything was coming together... until one small miscalculation on the low rig. Failing that obstacle cost me valuable seconds, and after that I got stuck in my own head, losing even more time.🫠

Of course, I wanted to fight for a place in the next rounds alongside the best athletes. This time, it wasn’t meant to be.

That’s the reality of the 400m.🤷‍♀️ Everything can change in a split second, and one small mistake can make all the difference.

I’m choosing to focus on the positives.😊Every race is another lesson, another opportunity to grow. This experience will only make me stronger, and I’m excited for the many chances that are still ahead!
The journey continues.🫶
