One of the most stressful parts of being an equestrian model?

Knowing that every single second might become the photo.

When I’m shooting with a team that doesn’t know horses, they’ll often start shooting the second I step onto set.

There’s no “okay, we’re shooting now.”
The camera is already clicking.

And sometimes the photographer captures a moment that looks incredible from a fashion perspective… but makes every equestrian looking at it cringe.

My reins aren’t quite right. My position isn’t perfect. A piece of tack has shifted. The horse is standing in a way I would have corrected two seconds later.

But the photographer loves it.
And once that image leaves my hands, that may be the one that gets published.

That’s one of the risks of being an equestrian model: you’re working for two audiences at once.

The fashion world sees the shape, the movement, the emotion and the photograph.

The horse world sees everything.
And sometimes the image that makes the best fashion photograph isn’t the image I would choose as an equestrian.

You have to be willing to live with that—or this very specific corner of modeling probably isn’t for you.
Because when horses are involved, you don’t get to control every frame.

And occasionally, the imperfect moments make the most unforgettable photographs.

Modeling can be fun and beautiful, but also brutal — it’s a world built on subjectivity and image, and frequently it’s hard not to feel judged for things that don’t really define me.

Flying helicopters reminds me of what does matter — skill, focus, discipline, and courage. It’s something I earned through work, not appearance.

When fashion makes me question my worth based on superficial judgements, piloting helicopters remind me that there is more to being a human than my looks. And when my brain craves a rest from all the information it needs to hold for flying, I find even more enjoyment in the creativity, elegance and femininity of modeling. It’s the contrasting natures of both these things that end up giving my life an essential balance. #pilot #helicopter #fashionmodel #worklifebalance #mentalhealth by @zintapolo

Meet Fangio. He joined my string over a year ago. But I never officially introduced him to my social media community. He’s a polo pony from Argentina. He’s easy enough for my less experienced friends to hop on and have fun while athletic enough for me to play tournaments on. I love having this gorgeous easy boy to share the magic of horses with my friends and family.
