My first puppet slam✨
In 2024 I dive into the world of puppetry and now I feel like I am part of a big fleece family

It all started with a Puppet Class from @claudiaorenstein, where I started making this dress and I attended Marionette Theatre for the first time)
For this puppet dress I received the Design Betty and Jay Theatre Award🥳

☀️In June I started working at Swedish Cottage Marionete Theatre as an intern where I took my training and traveled with a puppet show through the parks of New York City all summer

At the end I got a position as a puppeteer)
And in October I became part of the International Puppet Slam @puppetslam @greenfeatherorg where I showed my dress for the first time to a large audience🥹
(One day I went to craftenoon and heard about the slam and like Hey I have a piece)

Then I started my internship with @lamamaetc and met many more talented puppeteers

I am thankful for many things this year, but most of all I am thankful for rides in the puppetmobile with @alyssa.parkhurst , watching My strange addiction between shows, my friends who came to the kids show to watch me, standing for 2 hours for hot dogs after the show and so much more....

my internship at the met opera 🎶

I’m so lucky to see how such a giant institution works from within.

I also realized how deeply I love ballet and opera.And the level of excellence l want to have in my work ✨

I learned so much about marketing too, and I’m excited to bring it with me into future projects))
(Idk how to describe it but something has changed in my world view after this internship)

After the 20th iteration of Professor @claudiaorenstein's Fall Puppetry Class, students from the Fall, executive produced by @tamayos27, put together the first Hunter College Puppet Slam!#Classof2026 @zlata_god's original honors piece "What Happened to Mavka?" was the centerpiece. After graduating this May, Zlata now works as a puppeteer at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater. #SeniorSpotlight by @zlata_god
