Pixelated Kisses (turn your phone)

A piece about distance, yearning, frustration. A dream that died, someone that you can’t reach anymore, or something that slips out of your grasp.

I am proud of my Resonate students for how they took on this piece. We didn’t have a lot of time and they rose to the challenge with focus, dedication and a willingness to be vulnerable. This piece required a lot from them beyond the steps, and I got to see each dancer tap into and share real feelings we can all relate to.

Time flies and it’s a bittersweet moment when your time with a particular group is over, but I am so excited to watch as they continue to develop their skills, voice and power with dance!

RESONATE is seriously spoiled this season… and we’re not even trying to hide it 👀✨Not one new director… but TWO!!
Introducing @zmasaoka 🔥 She’s fierce. She’s powerful. She’s captivating. And her style? Smooth. Groovy. Effortless flow with that undeniable bounce that makes you want to move the second the music starts.
Watching her dance is mesmerizing — she has a presence that draws you in, you can’t help but feel completely entranced from start to finish.

A little about her:
Hiii 💘 my name is Zahra Masaoka. I am so excited for my first season as a director for Resonate!
My other current dance work includes Rivals, Malicious Vixens, Dope Girl Movement, and Westlake Dance Center. Outside of dance I am a Certified Professional Friendship Coach 👯‍♀️ and love to read, eat snacks, get a yummy drink (banana milk!), spend time with my friends, nature things and travel.
