Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday, 24th July, 2026, in the area of Malcolm Road East off East Street, which left a 44-year-old man injured.

According to the preliminary report, shortly after 9:00 p.m., police received information that a man had been shot and transported to the hospital by private vehicle for medical treatment. Officers responded to the scene and launched an investigation.

The initial investigation revealed that a group of individuals was gathered outside a residence when a silver Kia SUV travelling east along Malcolm Road stopped in front of the property.

A lone gunman exited the vehicle, produced a firearm, and opened fire on the group, striking the victim before re-entering the SUV. The suspect then fled east along Malcolm Road.

The victim was treated for his injuries and has since been discharged from the hospital.

Officers assigned to the Fox Hill Division, with assistance from the Canine Support Unit, conducted a special operation on Friday, 24 July 2026, which resulted in the arrest of three men, ages 28, 31, and 43, in connection with the possession of a firearm.

According to preliminary reports, shortly after 7:30 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Eleuthera Drive, Yamacraw. Upon arrival, officers knocked on the door and announced their presence.

Although a male occupant responded, he initially refused to open the door.
A short time later, the man opened the door and attempted to flee on foot. Officers pursued the suspect, who resisted arrest and discarded a firearm from his waistband during the chase. The firearm was recovered and contained a quantity of ammunition, and the suspect was arrested and cautioned.

A search of the residence was subsequently conducted, during which two additional men were found and taken into custody in connection with the investigation.

Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred on Thursday, 23rd July, 2026, on the Eastern Road.

According to preliminary reports, shortly before 9:00 p.m., the complainant reported that she was driving her white Nissan Juke, registration number DF1535, along the Eastern Road with a male companion. After stopping briefly to allow her companion to relieve himself, they were approached by two men dressed in dark clothing and armed with firearms.

The suspects demanded the vehicle, and the complainant complied. The men then entered the Nissan Juke and drove west along Eastern Road. The stolen vehicle was reportedly followed by a blue Japanese-model vehicle.
