Gym newbie🏋🏻‍♀️
Documenting her weight loss journey every week🗓️
POSTS STORIES REELS
I broke my 100+ day streak of calorie counting while on the staycation😮‍💨 I was tempted to forget about calorie counting until coming back from my 2 week holiday mid-September butttttt that is a sure way to slow down progress. Last couple weeks saw one day I drank 1000kcal+ just on alcohol, 2 days of educated guess tracking cos I forgot my food scales aaaaaaand plenty of eating out on the staycation. Also got bit by a dog for the first time in my life, just to add something extra to the mix. A few days off calorie counting & a lil traumatic event shouldn’t derail weeks of progress so the following days I got back on calorie counting. Gym has averaged 2x per week with all the summer plans, keen to improve this ahead of my 2 week holiday!!💪💪 #fitnesschallenge #transformation #fitnessjourney #manchesterfitness #fatloss by @zocogirl
👁️👄👁️ took forever to come back and post a progress update buttttttt still consistent on the calorie deficit (bar a few 🍸🥂🍾 evenings) and the gym🏋🏻‍♀️ #progressupdate #fitnesstransformation #fitnesschallenge #transformation #fatloss by @zocogirl
Oh😮‍💨 increased calories temporarily due to late period and a semi boozy weekend. I’m changing bits of my diet to help my cycle remain regular (more healthy fats, grains & beans) and it’s so hard to stick to a calorie deficit on the weekend!!! I wondered whether I should reduce calories on weekdays to compensate for weekends, buttttt I feel lethargic and moody on anything less that 1,700kcal per day so I’ll keep going slow and steady. #fitnesschallenge #transformation #fitnessjourney #fatloss #documentinglife by @zocogirl
Latest weekly update on losing 9kg / 20pounds✨ On Thursday I drank the equivalent of 4 shots of espresso, started to feel jittery and then nauseous🤢 Apparently it’s an observed thing that if you drink coffee on a semi-empty stomach, it can irritate ur stomach lining and cause nausea😭 I’ve 100% learned my lesson and have discontinued my post-lunch coffee😔 #fitnesschallenge #transformation #fitnessjourney #manchesterfitness #weightlossstory by @zocogirl
Listen to ur beautician, she knows best😮‍💨 I became curious about laminate brows after seeing someone else’s transformation, she did go a lighter shade than her natural colour on the tint🤷🏻‍♀️ and my beautician said you probably should go lighter but depends on the aesthetic you’re going for. Yeah… definitely should have gone lighter😂 but we live & learn. #browlamination #browtransformation #glowupjourney #browsofinstagram #transformation by @zocogirl
Journey to lose 9kg / 20 pounds continues! I had a couple people reach out last week to suggest lowering my calorie intake, only thing is I previously did a significantly lower calorie deficit which led to plenty of hunger, mood swings and an 8 day late period🥲 That being said, lowering by 50kcal then another 50kcal this week feels more maintainable. Then upping the anti on gym, step count and stripping out alcohol altogether feels like I should push into a further deficit that way. There are plenty of trials & errors on a weight loss journey, we live and learn. Let me know below on any lessons you’ve learned on a similar journey👇🏼 #fitnessjourney #fitnessgirl #fitnessmotivation #fitnesschallenge #manchesterfotness by @zocogirl
✨ Progress Update ✨ A little insight into why I think I’m seeing these results so far 🧐 I’d genuinely love for a PT, nutritionist, or doctor to challenge or correct any of my thinking. This fitness journey has been a huge learning curve, and whenever I notice changes, I tend to switch into research mode and try to understand the science behind them 🔬 I’m still learning, so these are simply my observations and theories based on what I’ve experienced so far✨ #fitnessjourney #fitnessprogress #weightlossjourney #75hardchallenge #bodytransformation by @zocogirl
42 days in💪🏻 aaaand a cheeky fitness-related story on when we met…. I was training for a half marathon when I met Nico, and the only nutrition advice I listened to was “you need to carb load for your runs”. And I did that very well, resulting in +6kg despite being in the fittest cardiovascular shape of my life. I couldn’t understand how I was putting on weight despite all the exercise, which is when Nico pointed out my big portions of rolled oats and pasta dishes might be putting me in a calorie surplus. Since then, I’ve been sporadically consistent at the gym, running and calorie deficits. However, this April I decided to make a change and become properly consistent with the same strength-training exercises, same calorie deficit with a focus on high protein and basically put everything Nico has taught me to the test. The progress feels slow, but hopefully that means it’s sustainable💪🏻 Excited to see how the next few weeks go🏋🏻‍♀️🍓🥑💖 #fitnesschallenge #manchesterfitness #transformation #weightloss #fitnessjourney by @zocogirl
Goals for June✨💖🍑 May laid foundations, with consistency at the gym, correcting my form in various movements and batch cooking to eat in a deficit🥘 June is more of the same✨ My main goal is to build muscle while losing fat, while a side quest is to stop procrastinating (!!!) on bloody listing items on Facebook marketplace and Vinted🛒 I’d love to hear your goals for June in the comments👇🏼 Inspo: @daniellemimoni #goalssetting #newmonthnewgoals #fitnessjourney #healthyhabits by @zocogirl
Gym newbie mistakes, so far: ✨Back extension is great for targeting glutes, but toes should be out and don’t bend too far forward. I could feel a big stretch in my hammies so paused, like, should I be feeling that? Turns out nope, my form was wrong. ✨Leg press is my bestie butttt I wasn’t progressively overloading. 175.7kg felt heavy enough but I can semi-comfortably do 12 reps. Last session I hit a PR with 215.7kg😬 Turn outs, I was previously no where near failure. ✨Always starting bench press with no weights, then adding 5kg gradually. I’ve made progress through the weeks so my warm up sets probably should have more weight on. If you’re also on a fitness journey, I’d literally love to connect and hold each other accountable🙏💖 #fitness #fitnessjourney #fitnesschallenge #manchesterfitness #fitnessgirly by @zocogirl
Introducing 69 to 60 Series✨ 📋The plan is to share weekly updates on my fitness journey! 🚀 I’ll share mistakes (so you don’t have to repeat them), what I’ve learned and successes along the way. 🥺 If you’re also on your fitness journey, I’d literally love to connect🫶🏻 #fitnessjourney #69to60series #transformation #fitnessmotivation by @zocogirl
Manchester canal walks are turning into one of my favourite activities📍 Get the step count in while stopping off at cute lil pubs along the route… albeit no pub stops this time due to the mission at hand🚶🏻‍♀️ This mini-vlog thing was a smidge chaotic as I had no plans while filming or in editing it so enjoy the voiceover of everything that came to mind✨ #manchester #walkingchallenge #chorlton #hale by @zocogirl
