“I paint the people I love, primarily within living rooms, gay clubs, bars, and third spaces while using warm, saturated colors to reflect South Florida’s heat. I want the paintings to feel humid and enveloping, as if you can sense the sweat on your skin, smell the cigarettes drifting from the person beside you, and feel the late-night warmth pressing in.”

Zoë Schweiger (b. 2000, Miami, FL) is a painter whose figurative work captures the people and spaces she loves, distorted, blurred, and saturated with the heat, humidity, and queer vitality of her native Miami. A MICA graduate, her work has been shown at The Armory Show, Expo Chicago, Art021 Shanghai, and NSU Art Museum, where it now lives in the permanent collection. We are thrilled to present her work at CAN Ibiza @canartfair this June.

Hiiii! I’m SO excited to share that I’ll be attending the Yale School of Art for my MFA in painting/ printmaking beginning this fall. This is such a dream come true and I’m so hyped to spend the next two years pushing my work and growing as an artist 💘
