Treated my sister here back in August as Birthday treat since she loves seafood!

10/10 recommend ! If you’re in a rush wouldn’t recommend you come here. They take their time and give you quality!! Everything was seasoned (ofc it being black owned!) they’re also from Guyana 🇬🇾 so it def have a Caribbean spice to it! We liked how we didn’t feel overly full after eating the whole boil , it was just enough ! I think sometimes we except a boil bag to be a mountain of food , but let’s get back to eating in moderation ! Great spot to check we spent close to $100 total with tip included two seafood boils and 2 drinks.

Check them out if you haven’t and let me know what you think in the comments!

Very refreshing to see a modernized Guyanese Trini🇬🇾🇹🇹restaurant in NJ. Safe to say this is the first that’s not a takeout spot❕I went here the day after their grand opening and it was pretty empty but the food was flavorful. Not sure if the crowd picked up yet but check them out and tell me what you think ! #nj by @zoetoldme

Looking for fun Vibes after work ? 🤩🤝🏾

(Only on Wednesdays evenings in July)

There are Vendors like henna artists, Muslim perfume oils sellers, etc , a couple of foodtrucks, great music, dancing & more to lift your spirits after a long day at work & to celebrate that middle point of the week almost being over! I loved being around Black joy🥰❤️

Stop 6 : Dominica 🇩🇲
~Not be confused with Dominican Republic ~
Don’t sleep on Wharton/Lake Hopatcong, NJ! What I thought would be ‘too far’ ended up being just a 35–40 min drive with no tolls if you’re already in North Jersey. This hidden gem, opened in Oct 2023, is family-run and full of heart. Chef Chris—raised in the U.S. but deeply rooted in Dominican culture—has true smokehouse mastery, cooking ribs, brisket, and more with precision using different woods and temps. These are his and his sister Kathleen’s mom’s recipes, reimagined with their own modern, flavorful twist.

Plenty of gluten-free and vegan options, which is a huge plus, but just note that lunch ends at 3 PM. I highly recommend saving room for dessert—those cheesecake balls with passion fruit sauce were unreal: crisp on the outside, creamy inside, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and ideal for sharing (comes in 3).

Even more special? The warm, family vibe. Gabby (Kathleen’s daughter) greeted us as hostess, and Mikhael (her son) was our super friendly server. Everyone knows everyone in Dominica, where their family roots are from—a beautiful island of just 50–60k people with rich culture, active volcanoes, and now, a slice of that heritage right here in NJ. Trust me, this spot is worth the trip!

As the month of June comes to a close,

The 5th stop I’m highlighting is DR !🇩🇴

My sister & I have never had tres leches this delicious. Mark my words, the best tres leches in New Jersey! Cedania and her daughter Maylene were very sweet and warm! As stated in the video, they just opened up 5 months ago. I was hit with the delicious bakery smell upon the walkin. I loved how clean it was in there as well. They offer tea, coffee, cakes, desserts individually or whole. I also love their Christian ✝️as well <3!

Have you ever heard of a Cryo Dry Float Bed ? Or in other words a Dry Cold Plunge - which means you won’t be wet at all. Well you can experience for a maximum of 3 minutes in Morristown, NJ ! And you can relax in the Red Light Infrared Sauna 🧖🏾‍♀️ which has a Bluetooth built-in speaker inside ! this duo is perfect for after 🏋🏾‍♀️ or just want to recoup.

Fun Fact🌟: Brazilian 🇧🇷 food was my fave cuisine growing up🫰🏾

We ate here for Mother’s Day 🌺 outdoors on Sunday , it was beautiful ! I enjoyed everything. Def get the Bacalhau Espiritual & the Coconut Lemonade. My mom didn’t really care for the collard greens & the salmon could’ve had a little sauce or more flavor. By the way , they definitely did amazing job with the renovations.

Good eats. Good vibes. Good people. What hospitality is all about! If you haven’t already, go check out Sugar’d in Flatbush!🗽Shoutout to Kree at Sugar’d he was so kind & amazing! I did a nice voiceover interview but unfortunately didn’t make the cut. I asked Kree a couple of questions and to sum it up he shared that:
The cuisine at Sugar’d is Caribbean Trinidadian fusion.
✨Mango Chow Margarita is one of the underrated drinks you should try!
✨A couple great dishes to try here are the Jabalasi snapper, shrimp. He mentioned the Jambalasi is a cilantro garlic butter sauce that is very herbaceous. Callaloo is another great menu item to try!
✨Nestled in the middle of Flatbush — which is a very Caribbean dominated area to make people feel like they are back home

Use this coupon for a 🆓 Dessert: ZOETOLDME. Valid until Saturday, April 26th, 2025. Shoutout to Tasa for making us feel so welcome & Lisa for serving us. This is my second time eating baklava, I gave it another chance and I loved it! First time was at an Italian place , I should’ve actually tried it from Le Souk first! 🇸🇾 Ordering the house special tea is a must & I would definitely recommend getting the mezze spread with the Labneh & hummus. Wasn’t crazy about the beet salad but I’m sure it’s good for you! Me & my bf both loved our entrees 😌! Let me know if you guys check it out & if you like it
