People always ask me, “Wait… do you really hand-roll every single bead?”

Yes. I really do. Every one of them.

I select the colors. I mix them. I roll them. Sometimes I start over if the energy doesn’t feel right. That part matters to me.

This set was inspired by the Buddhist monks’ Walk for Peace — and those beautiful, rich, unmistakable robes they wear. The colors are bold but calming. Intentional. Peaceful.

That’s what I wanted these beads to feel like — steady, peaceful, vibrant — and that’s what I want the wearer to feel.

Nothing rushed. Just my hands, color, and intention.

And because of that, every piece I create is absolutely one of a kind — whether it becomes a bracelet or another collectible, wearable art piece.

A Simple Act of Kindness, A Lasting Impact

I met Mena at a Panera one morning while grabbing coffee and a bagel. At checkout, I realized I was a little over $1.70 short of cash—it was too little for a credit card charge. As I stood there deciding whether to charge that small amount or just skip the bagel, Mena—whom I had never met before—simply said, “I got you.”

Three small words. A quiet generosity. A moment of kindness that rippled far beyond that counter.

I insisted on paying, but she wouldn’t hear it. “We should all spread kindness,” she said. And in that moment, I felt the weight of those words. The world is shaped by gestures like this—small, unassuming gestures, yet powerful enough to shift someone’s day, or even their heart.

I promised Mena I’d return to thank her. A few days later, I did—bringing with me a bracelet infused with love and blessings, handcrafted with prayer beads from Morocco, from my @ZoeTribeBeads collection. When I asked for her, no one seemed to know Mena at first—I started thinking that maybe I had encountered an angel! And then I heard—“Oh, she’s on break.”

She walked over, smiling. “I thought you forgot.”

“I would never forget,” I told her.

It wasn’t about the amount. It was about the intention behind her kindness. And I believe there are many Mena’s in the world—people who share kindness without expectation, who respond in those moments without hesitation, with the sincere intent to simply uplift and encourage another human being.

Today, in honor of International Women’s Day, I want to shine a light on Mena. Her small act of kindness was a reminder that goodness exists in the everyday, waiting to be passed along.
