Hello! It’s Phil & Nicole here. 👋🏼

As some of you know, ZOMU is currently taking a temporary pause.

What started out as our little coffee pop-up has grown into something so much bigger than we could’ve ever imagined, and with that growth comes a few things we need to take care of behind the scenes.

We’re currently working through permitting and requirements related to our space, along with upgrades needed to get us back up and running. This includes new plumbing and sinks, along with the permits needed to get everything completed.

The plumbing and supplies alone are estimated over $12,500, and with permits, inspections, and other costs on top of that, it’s become a much bigger expense than we expected.

We have poured as much as we can back into ZOMU, using up all of our personal savings to help it start last year. However, being closed while also taking on these costs has been difficult. So, for the first time and with much convincing from friends (hi friends! 😅) , we’re asking our community for help.

Any contribution will go directly toward the work needed to reopen ZOMU and get us back to making you the drinks you love (& hopefully new seasonal drinks for fall/winter?). We would like to emphasize that we don’t take asking for help lightly, especially when it comes to financial support. We know how hard things can be, which is why even sharing this fundraiser or sending some love our way means so much to us!

We miss seeing everyone more than you know (+ all of your cute dogs), and we are incredibly grateful for ALL of the love you’ve given this little coffee shop of ours. We can’t wait to be back!

✨ July ✨

This month we’re introducing our Salted Pandan Latik Syrup, available in limited quantities each week, and yes, it’s completely vegan. 💚

Latik is a rich coconut caramel that’s found in many Filipino desserts. For me, it’s a little piece of home. It’s inspired by my mom’s love for biko and the memories of watching her patiently stir the pot in our kitchen, filling the house with the warm aroma of coconut and caramel.

We wanted to capture that feeling in a syrup while giving everyone a new way to enjoy pandan beyond our cream top. We hope every sip feels a little nostalgic, whether it reminds you of home or introduces you to a new favorite flavor. 🌿🥥 by @zomucoffee
