an illustration fueled by an amateur’s failures to naturally comprehend the complex mechanics of the generator of human emotions, its many systems of operations, and very fallible design.

To think properly
You must think thoroughly

If you do not want to lose your autonomy.

On the complexities difficulties of trying to know oneself, using critical thinking to understand subjective experience.

OJO ⛈️

Everyone knows the pain of endless rain
Rainy days in a city that stinks to hell
Hell, you can’t tell if it’s night or day

As kids and workers spill into the sewage that spills into the city streets.

Cars line up splashing sewage everywhere
Onto the city’s kids,
Wet books, wet laptops, wet clothes ,
Wet people with open wounds will catch cold and disease.
Cold and dark, pedestrians try to get by with no city lights.
Darkness dripping as they spill into the leaking kekes and buses.

Ojo,

Obviously the power is out, so you get to choose.

Windows closed , you get
Stale heat and the dark in your own homes.

Or windows open , so you can get some air
and the mosquitoes that the sewage breeds

Or theres enough for fuel, so you subject your neighbors to the smoke and sound of generators.

Sorry I lied

Most times, no one gets to escape the cold wetness on the coldest rainiest days

As the ceiling leaks into your homes, and back out into the city streets

only the lord knows where it takes the sewage and the homeless, washing down the sinking streets

This shitty sinking city stinks

Ojo,

As usual, this city weeps

An illustration of what life becomes under endless rainy days, and their effects on the daily lives of the inhabitants of modern cities as they descend into slums through crumbling infrastructure, systemic neglect, yearly rainfall, and recurring floods, all while the climate of our planet continues to change.

Ojó” means rain in Yoruba. “Ojò” also means to leak. That double meaning became the conceptual centre of this work. In Lagos, rain is natural; leaking is political. Endless rainfall exposes the failures of infrastructure until the city itself seems to leak: its roofs, roads, transport systems, sewage, electricity, and eventually its people. Borrowing Nagato’s line from Naruto, “As usual, this land continues to weep” the illustration collapses Amegakure (the Hidden Rain Village) into Lagos, using rain to evoke the experience of yearly floods, failing infrastructure, systemic neglect, and the growing pressures of climate change.

DON’T LEAVE AT THE END OF SUMMER—LET ME GO

Traversed all of space to get to your light

Beautiful bird being taking flight

Ripped at my seams and torn apart left and right

Your loss is oh so devastating tonight

Collision

(Commissioned)

Some connections are raw, ethereal, and unearthly.

Bodies slowly merging into one another, blurring the boundaries and limitations of physical space.

Moments that remind you that we are stardust, caught in an endless collision,

being pulled by planetary forces of attraction into a kind of warmth.

Warmth that bends the physical plane, and I’m melting into the warmth of your breathing heart.

Our bodies are breathing, blending, blurring.
