If you didn’t know this about me already, I’ve been the student director for the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association for the past 3 years.
What does that mean? It means I care A LOT about high school journalism.
I was once in the same position as these students and journalism gave me an outlet and a sense of purpose in my life. These students are our future. They are actively telling stories about their communities and for some, they are one of the only news sources in their town.
My last convention as Student Director was last week. As I step into the next adventure in my career, I can say with certainty that the future of journalism is in good hands. And people should ABSOLUTELY support student journalism when they can! 💚 taken in The University of Mississippi - Ole Miss by @zoomkeye

Good morning 🤭💕
I took a little bit of a break from posting due to a number of things but the main thing being, I wasn’t really loving the work that I was doing. Yes, I was out all the time taking photos and the shots turned out good, but nothing that I would edit the same day out of excitement.
NOW THIS. THIS WAS DIFFERENT. I got the opportunity to cover Code Pink here in Oxford and I fell asleep so excited to edit these photos the next morning. Every shot had me cheesing behind the camera and it really reignited that spark that was burnt out.
All of this to say, I may post again in two days or two months. No one knows 🫠 But I wanted to share these GORGEOUS shots from Thursday. Thank you thank you @codepink_oxford for everything you do for this community🫶 by @zoomkeye
