POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’M ALIVE! …and I got some new shots. 👹💅
Please scroll to enjoy a photo of how I actually look.

I took some time off of social media to recalibrate, rest, and grind out auditions. Sorry if I worried anyone! I hope you’re all doing well and I’m looking forward to catching up on what folks have been up to.

A huge THANK YOU to @ianmclarenphoto for a genuinely fun session and somehow making me look good. Another big thank you to my beautiful @woodan05 for setting this up!

Keep chasing that horizon. 🥃

The reviews are a little different when you play the bad guy. 😬👹

“Zachary Owen’s interpretation of Lt Schrank was full of appropriate malice and callousness” -Broadway World

“Of special note were Anybodys (Madison Hertel), Doc (Wynn Harmon) and Lt Schrank (Zachary Owen), who got my vote as the scariest character of all.” -The Georgetowner

“Zachary Owen’s Lt. Schrank is excellent at being an all too familiar mouthpiece for ignorance, anger and prejudice.”
-Jk’s Theatrescene

*gulp* Sorry 🥃 Keep chasing that horizon.

And just like that, we’re closed! Bravo to one of the best casts I’ve ever been a part of. Yall are so insanely talented and exceptional at what you do. Thank you for sharing the stage and allowing me to yell horrible things at you. lol. I feel like I’ve left a little piece of my heart in DC.
Special shoutout to @ericseanfogel
Every time I do a WSS with you, I discover something wonderful and new.

Some highlights from the last couple months!

I was honored to return to Luther College and sing the Bass Soloist in their Mozart Requiem. I have so much love for all the faculty and staff (special shoutout to @heandereck ). They are so supportive and every time I go back it feels like going home. I shared the stage with @tenorstenson @phillips.jillc @lakrumm and @emily.s.secor who are all wildly talented in addition to Nordic Choir and the Luther Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Baldwin. …I certainly felt like the “weird one” being that I’ve recently been focused on acting and musical theater, but being around them was incredibly inspiring. Thanks for all the laughs, gang!!!!

Shortly after that, @woodan05 and I went with a group of some of our favorite people to Mexico for a few days. It was exactly what we needed. A chance to slow down and unplug. …meanwhile Pumpkin was terrorizing people at the kennel.

Anyway, there you go! Onward!

A few days ago, I got around to voting. It’s probably not a surprise to you that I voted for Kamala Harris. I’ve made a few posts in the past about my deep dislike for the other guy… So, instead of repeating myself, I thought I might make a post about one of the reasons Ms. Harris got my vote.

I live in a community full of differing opinions and views. Where Democrats and Republicans live next to each other and rely upon one another. We don’t always agree but our lives are intertwined and made better through each other. Moreover, I have loved ones and family that vote differently from me. And that’s good! Having a different perspective from someone and working to understand the other person is so important to the continuing development of our communities- indeed, our democracy, as a whole going forward.

That being said, this year, I believe there is only one candidate for President who is willing to listen to the other side of things. As President, I believe Kamala Harris will make meaningful compromises that benefit us all. I believe she will look at problems thoughtfully from as many different perspectives as she can before acting, rather than rashly peddling absolutism and Zionism to make herself look better. After all, the latter is only a path to sowing more division and hatred.

We need that. We need someone who is willing to listen to all of us.

So, anyway, there you go. If you’d like to talk with me about it, feel free to reach out. I am always open to a thoughtful conversation or glad to just listen. I hope you have a great week and remember to vote!
