Last little post for the weekend! Taking a moment to recap this year’s fantastic ACDA experience. As a senior this was a very emotional and sentimental year for me, and not only was I able to take my own work to get adjudicated, I was also able to dance in one of my best friend’s works on the Gala stage. Being a part of my UH dance community has been so rewarding and special, and while I’m sad to leave, I’m excited to have so many wonderful people rooting for me and in my corner! Nobody does it quite like a Coog 🤩

Just wanted to take a quick moment to recap the wonderful experience that was Ensemble Dance Works. This was the final faculty showcase of my college career and what an amazing one it was. The opportunity to dance alongside my peers always reminds me just how lucky I am to share space with other people who adore this craft as much as I do. I am so grateful to my professors for their dedication to our growth as individuals and for pushing us beyond our limits every single time. #COOG4LYFE

First heels class! ✨

Thank you @ciscochoreography for this insane push. I was honestly terrified before taking this class but after, I felt like I had opened myself up to the possibility of something new! It was hard but so rewarding and the energy was amazing. Loved dancing with my friends as always (and I’ll get the right pair of heels for the next class 🙂‍↕️👠) taken in Soreal Dance Studio by @zuridances

Finally recapping one of the most amazing things I was able to experience this year.

Memory Fleet: A Return to Matr was nothing short of a magical experience for me. Thank you, Jasmine, for giving me the opportunity to relish in and share my personal histories alongside some of the most amazing dancers and artists and creatives in and around the Houston area. I don’t really know if words can convey how much this body of work changed me as a person and dancer. It reminded me of so many things and also led me to new discoveries. I am different now, in a way that I can feel but cannot explain. I am eternally grateful and I miss the space, the movement, and the people that were a part of this experience every single day. Thank you, Memory Fleet for helping me realize that I am capable!

ACDA ‘24

We really did our thing y’all. I can safely say that this experience was so important to me learning who I am as a dancer. I reunited with old friends, learned new things about myself and my choreographic future, and danced my little heart out in the gala. I’m a coog through and through, and also part of a department that will do everything they can to support one another. Feeling grateful. ❤️ taken in UT Austin by @zuridances
