“Tired moments find me a delightful treat, hours of sorrow a shrine of understanding, at all times I am faithful to the creed of companionship.”- House of Alpha

To the Prestigious Mu Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., thank you for giving me the opportunity to further better myself in every aspect and learn the true meanings of being an Alpha Man! I’m grateful thus far and cannot wait to have an impact on our communities.

To my LBs, the Descendants, I hate to leave y’all boys but I’m so proud to call y’all my brothers. Continue to uphold the high standards of Alpha and never be afraid to fail. Although I won’t be on campus, I’m always going to be ready to support you going forward and can’t wait to see what each of you accomplish. I’m forever grateful for what you’ve done for me and with me! Love y’all boys!

“Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way”-Booker T. Washington

During my time at The University of Southern Mississippi, I have truly excelled in ALL endeavors. The awards, recognitions, and accomplishments speak for themselves. I’m grateful to have made as many connections and to have left the impact I did. This past year, I’ve been asked more than once, “how do you do it all?” I’ve often asked my self the same thing and outside of my support system, I have two answers. Passion and dedication. With these two things, YOU can accomplish anything.

To the Men of Excellence, my first student organization: This organization has taught me so many valuable lessons and presented me with several opportunities for growth and introduced me to lifelong relationships. As my time as President and a member of our organization draws to a close, I want to sincerely thank all of you. It has been an incredible journey leading this organization, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside such dedicated individuals like yourselves. To each and every one of you, I extend my deepest appreciation for your unwavering support, commitment, and hard work throughout this year. Out of all my accomplishments, serving as President is what I’m most proud of. Continue to excel in ALL endeavors!

To my advisors: Dr. Clemons, JB, Carl, Hannah Scott-Back, Melody Davisson, and everyone in between, thank you for everything. I appreciate the trust and support you’ve all given me when it comes to being a student leader and an individual looking to learn how to excel in life. I cherish all of the conversations, laughs, and events we’ve been able to have and work together to execute. You’ve all been a huge part of my college experience and I couldn’t have done it without you.

Yours in Excellence,

Zacchaeus M. Wallace🎓✨

As we close this chapter, let’s remember: the best is yet to come.

Today, as I stand on the threshold of a new chapter, I’m filled with gratitude and humility. I am ecstatic to announce I will be graduating from The University of Southern Mississippi on May 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM with my Bachelor’s of Science in Polymer Science and Engineering with a minor in Chemistry.

First and foremost, I thank God for guiding me through this journey. I am thankful for the blessings He has bestowed upon me, for the opportunities to learn and grow, and for the unwavering faith that has sustained me through it all.

To my family and especially my parents, you’ve been my source of love and encouragement. Thank you for believing in me, for your sacrifices, and for always cheering me on, even when the going got tough. I can’t wait to celebrate these accomplishments with you!

To my friends, thank you for helping me enjoy college. Without you, I definitely would not have learned to balance work and life. I appreciate all of you and will always hold the memories we’ve created close to my heart.

To the University of Southern Mississippi, thank you so much! Over these past four years, I’ve accomplished so much more than I ever could’ve imagined. Through success and failure, USM has cultivated me into the man who I am proud to be. To all of those who supported me, shout out to you! This is not a goodbye, but a I’ll see you later. As always, Southern Miss, TO THE TOP!🖤💛

As I look ahead, I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be continuing my academic journey at Vanderbilt University in the Biomedical Engineering PhD program. I am excited to embrace new challenges, expand my horizons, and seize every opportunity that comes my way. Here’s to new beginnings, to chasing dreams, and to making a difference.

Sincerely,

Zacchaeus M. Wallace🎓🦅
