'Rising Sea' (2019)
A metal sculpture from thousands of discarded liquor bottle tops. The material holds conceptual significance given that alcohol was one of the commodities Europeans transported to Africa in exchange for slaves. A historical symbolism as powerful as it is subtle.
Also a thought-provoking title that brings to mind the dangerous effects of climate change.
