Postcards of Lately 1) I slowed down. I thought it was weak, but I think it’s important to live. I often looked and compared myself to others, but if you want to be unique you have to choose your own path. Even when the path is hidden, I learned that at times slowing down is what helps. Postcards of Lately 2) After a year of creating and improving. I sometimes forget how blessed I am, even when things aren’t exactly how I wished. Postcards of Lately 3) So I learned to enjoy the little things in life, that’s where your happiness rises. by @zylostudios
Never Stop Running - Nike Spec Ad I wanted to challenge myself with something different. While I’ve created sports content before, this was my first time producing a running focused spec ad. It was also my first time incorporating drone shots into one of my projects. The process gave me the opportunity to experiment with new camera techniques, editing, pacing and sound design while continuing to develop my storytelling. I also recently upgraded to a Sony A7V, and this project was the perfect chance to put it to use and see what it could do. I LOOK AT FREEDOM LIKE TREES A concept that is based on a lyric by J. Cole: “I look at freedom like trees, can’t grow a forest like overnight.” A song where Cole delivers a single continuous verse that talks about various issues facing the United States, including police violence, wealth inequality and racism. He also asks his fans not to idoly him, because instead he wants to be seen as an ordinary person. With this project I want to emphasise the power and value of a dark skin color, and show that “black people” should have the same rights as anyone else. Theoretically this is also the case, but in the real world there is still inequality. At the same time, this work is not just about one group, but about people worldwide. You can’t grow a forest without planting a seed. That is why it is important that we continue to invest in the beautiful things, such as love. Because love is stronger than hate. Also a quote from Bad Bunny. Furthermore, this project is also deeper for me because this is one of my favourite all-time songs. Not only lyrics wise, but it’s a song I’ve always come back to during I ups and downs. I’ve always wanted to do something inspired by J. Cole’s Snow On Tha Bluff. Thanks.
