I made this dress last year with every intention of wearing it for my birthday.

January came, and life looked very different from what I had imagined. There was so much going on that celebrating didn’t feel right, so the dress stayed in my wardrobe.

Today, I finally wore it.

As I stood getting ready this morning, I couldn’t help but think about how much can change in just a few months.

The first half of this year taught me one of the biggest lessons of my life: not everything is mine to control. Somewhere along the way, I stopped trying to hold everything together and simply let God be God. I trusted Him with the things I couldn’t fix, and little by little, He gave me peace where I once had worry.

I still don’t have all the answers, and life isn’t suddenly perfect. But I am no longer carrying what I was carrying at the beginning of the year. For that, I am deeply grateful.

Then God surprised me in the sweetest way.

I’ve always wanted to have professional photos taken, but I’ve never actually had the opportunity. Today, while I was outside trying to take pictures on my phone, a professional photographer walked up to me and said, “You look so stunning. I’d love to take your pictures.”

I couldn’t believe it.

She took the most beautiful photos of me, and it honestly felt like a little birthday gift from God. A reminder that He cares about the little desires of our hearts too.

Today was our Mid year Thanksgiving, and I couldn’t think of a better day to finally wear this dress. I wasn’t even planning to post these pictures today, but after everything that happened, I just had to.

God has been so kind to me this year. Here’s to His faithfulness in the first half of the year and to trusting Him with everything the second half holds. He has been good, and I know He is not finished with me yet. 🤍 taken in London, United Kingdom by @zyno_candy

A Graduation dump 🎓

This dreamer’s dream came true, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family and friends. Going for my MBA was literally the hardest, most difficult thing I have ever done. Nothing could have prepared me for everything that I experienced. I wanted to quit so many times; I wanted to go home at some point. But I am grateful for the strength I found through you, and also for the strength I gained through all my experiences over the past two years. I am happy I didn’t go home; I am happy I didn’t give up. I am grateful for all the things I learned, all the people I met, and for everything in between. I gained a second degree and also gained a new, better, more amazing version of myself 🥰. I discovered strengths I didn’t even know I had, and my resolve to grow only stronger. I am excited to see how the beautiful story that is my life unfolds. Finally, thank you, God ❤️, for being so gracious to this little girl 🥰. I love you ❤️❤️.
