stanford spring drag dump sans DragFest 2025 <3

From performing random gigs to meeting legends like Onya Nurve and Pattie Gonia, from seeing Doechii, FLO, and Aliyah's Interlude live to appreciating ballroom and supporting my friends, a lot went on in retrospect! So blessed for all that was afforded to me and I can't wait to see where we go from here ✨

special dump dedicated to @stanforbangalis and everyone in that community that helped to heal wounds that cut generations deep 🫶🏼 to be able to show up my fully f4ggy self and still get to contribute to, organize, and celebrate my culture has been a gift to my self esteem, my drag, and my queer life 🌷 lots of gratitude for them <3

Meet Zaki Z Chic aka Zz Chic, 2025 Artist-in-Resonance 🤲🏾

Zaki Z Chic, better known simply as Zz Chic, is a Bangladeshi-American drag artist and performer born and raised in New York City. Since beginning their drag career in 2022, they’ve solidified themselves as Stanford’s very own South Asian Drag Sensation. Their practice is rooted in community building, especially as it pertains to the intersections of their Queer, Desi, First-Gen, and Muslim backgrounds. Inspired by her biological mother and the many aunties that raised them, Zz hopes to cultivate safe spaces for their audiences and Drag family, prioritizing practices of care, empathy, and compassion. Drag, to them, encapsulates so many other artforms and fully embodies the love and light that art brings into our lives. They are grateful to IDA for the honor and opportunity of participating in the inaugural AiR cohort. With IDA and AiR’s support and care, Zz has curated their magnum opus for Stanford Drag, to be performed live at Stanford DragFest 2025. Come see Zz Chic, alongside a cast of incredible drag artists, live on Wilbur Field very soon — Friday, May 16th from 7 PM to 10 PM.

See Zaki’s work at our IDA Artist-in-Resonance Showcase at Harmony House on May 23rd 4:00 PM ➡️ 6:00 PM 🎨

Supposed to be on stage, but fuck it, I need a minute 💋

Lil drag dump from the quarter ! Here's what went down 🙂‍↕️

📸 1, 8, 13 - Sex Week Drag Trivia ! This actually took place the day after my birthday and it was so fun getting to work with @shprc_stanford and @thearborstanford and host with my South Asian sissy @theslutrock ❤️ Also super special cuz it was @xt11na first time seeing me in drag ! Photo credits: 1 - @xt11na, 8 & 13 - @lesy.jpg

🎥 12 - Drag Bingo co-hosted by yours truly and @theindigomenace in collab between @stanforddragtroupe & @cardinalnights ! Lil video of me feeling myself after the gig as you do 🤭

📸 3, 9, 10, 19 - 5th Annual Winter Performing Arts Festival through @stanfordarts ! So honored to host my 3rd and last WPAF 🥲 I’ve been so grateful to be working as a OVPA Liaison since frosh year and getting to bring my drag into the role. It was such a good gig - crowd was on fire, performers were spectacular, and I DID A SPLIT 💃Photo credits: 10 - @ilngry

📸 2, 4-7, 11, 14-18 - A Silver Screen Spectacular brought to you by @stanforddragtroupe at the @coho.stanford ! Daughter @karmikathequeen debuted, got to live my Wicked™ fantasy with @theindigomenace, and the audience resonated with my take on First Burn 🔥 Love seeing the Stanford drag community blossom into what it is now 💗 Photo credits: All @ulalucasss

Until next time :)
