As part of an ongoing personal project, I’m reimagining the covers to three novels by Jeffrey Eugenides.
The second in the series responds to The Marriage Plot, referencing the transformation of its heroine, her choices and judgments wiring the novel. by @zzoemape

A lot has happened since my last introduction. I thought I’d show my face and reintroduce myself a little.

I’m a self-taught illustrator who holds dual degrees in political science and history, along with a master’s in gender studies, specializing in sexual violence research. 🔍Thanks to my enduring passion for delving into subjects and cross-referencing, my creativity ultimately found its outlet in illustration. 🤝🏻
After a detour through fashion design and upcycling, the pandemic redirected my focus back to drawing, and I haven’t looked back since! 🪁
I work with bold colours and playful lines whilst playing with pattern. My influences include fashion and graphic archives from the 20th Century. 👔
My Lebanese and British background, and my childhood in the countryside with early internet have also had a significant impact on my style and concepts. 🌍

I live and work in Bordeaux, France. The gorgeous background to this picture is @barsauvageau ☕️

A few of my favourite things: eating, spending time with my cats, perfume, and walking around a new city!

I've illustrated the cover, back, and inside patterns of @penguinukbooks Brief Encounters' release Things by Georges Perec.

Things is Georges Perec’s cool, exacting portrait of a couple torn apart by consumer desire.

A young couple build their lives around the objects they long to own. From furniture to clothes to carefully imagined interiors, their desires shape their sense of who they are – and who they might become. Yet satisfaction always seems just out of reach.. Precise and quietly ironic, Things explores the promises of material life – and the emptiness that can follow.

Loved working on this, and very happy about the final result! Many thanks to @mattbroughtonbookdesign for pushing the work to its best, and thanks always to @heart_agency
