Day 05: The Opener

Surah Al-Fatiha is the seven-verse, fundamental first chapter of the Quran, acting as a direct conversation between humanity and Allahﷻ.

It praises Allah’s mercy and sovereignty, affirms that worship and help belong to Him alone, and asks for guidance to the straight path, summarizing the Quran’s core message of faith, worship, and accountability. by @zzubeer

A short film for @gacmahahooy.
Directed and shot by @zzubeer & @yusufdutch_
First presented during the opening of Gacmaha Hooy.

Gacmaha Hooy stands for the hands that feel like home to us. In ode to our first home, we dedicate this film to our mothers, Hooyo.

Through the voice of Hooyo Fadumo, we reflect on motherhood in the Netherlands.
On the quiet, everyday work that holds a home together.

What we often call daily chores are, in truth, gestures of care. Small, repeated acts that shape belonging, warmth, and a sense of home.

The unseen foundation of every home lies in these hands.

Special thanks to @rahmablh & @amvnaah for giving us the opportunity to present it at @gacmahahooy. by @zzubeer
