What started as a simple passion has grown into something I never could’ve imagined.

new bike day 🚲🫰🏼

Finally, my dream city commuter has become reality. It took me over a year to find the right-sized 1991 Specialized Stumpjumper frame, but it was worth the wait.

What started as a little side quest turned into a true dream project - built from scratch with parts I never imagined I’d get my hands on.

The original stem & handlebar combo with integrated cantilever brake cable routing, SRAM G Eagle 1x12, DT Swiss 240 hubs and various Velo Orange parts bring it all together.

Patience pays off. ✨
Absolutely thrilled to have built this bike from the ground up and finally ride it through the city.

Big thanks to @veit_schawi from @bikerecovery_gmbh for helping me bring the paint job to life!

🚴‍♂️ Justistal – a hidden gem above Lake Thun 🏔️

If you’re riding over Beatenberg, make sure to take the detour into the Justistal. From the southern shore of Lake Thun, the deep valley cutting into the mountains west of the Niederhorn is hard to miss – yet it feels like a completely different world.

The first 1.5 km are steep enough to get your legs working, but after that, the valley opens up and the climb becomes much more enjoyable. Between the Sigriswilgrat and Güggisgrat, the road winds gently into the valley, surrounded by alpine meadows, rugged cliffs and almost complete silence.

Along the way, you’ll pass several traditional alpine farms, some of them offering local food and drinks – including Lili’s Beizli at Gross Mittelberg. And if you’re lucky, you can take home some delicious Justistaler Alpkäse 🧀.

For road cyclists, the climb ends at Oberhofnerberg at 1,455 m. From here, the road gives way to hiking trails – but honestly, the views are more than enough reward. Looking back through the valley, you get an incredible panorama of the surrounding peaks: the Niederhorn on the left, and the Mittaghorn and Sigriswiler Rothorn rising above 2,000 m on the right.

A short detour, a beautiful climb and a valley that feels worlds away from the tourist hotspots around Lake Thun.

✨ Sometimes the best roads are the ones you almost miss.

Grappa Odyssey 2026. What an event. 🇮🇹⛰️

5 × up Monte Grappa — each time via a different ascent.

256 km · 8,243 m of elevation gain.

One hell of an odyssey, countless climbs, unforgettable moments, and an amazing community along the way.

I had the chance to ride Monte Grappa five times via five different ascents during the @grappa_odyssey
After experiencing several of its legendary roads, one climb stood out above the rest.

Strada Giardino - my favorite way up Monte Grappa 🇮🇹⛰️

Monte Grappa (1,775 m) marks the southern edge of the Dolomites and is home to some of Italy’s most iconic cycling climbs. With nine different routes to the summit, there’s no shortage of options, but Strada Giardino from Semonzo is my personal favorite. Quiet roads, stunning scenery, and relentless gradients make it the most rewarding ascent in my opinion.

Monte Grappa is more than just a legendary climb. It also holds deep historical significance, as fierce battles were fought here during World War I. Today, the summit features a memorial and ossuary, while many of the former military roads have been paved, creating some of the most unforgettable cycling routes in Europe.

If you only ride one climb on Monte Grappa, make it Strada Giardino. 🚴🇮🇹
