Whenever I go to an event, I always think I’d love to come back with a collection of photos that were made to be seen in black and white. The funny thing is that once I’m there, I get so immersed in everything that’s happening that I completely forget about it. But somehow, every single time, a few images end up finding their way into the edit. Those are the ones I always feel like sharing.

@grappa_odyssey was everything I could ask for in an event. Friends I hadn’t seen in a long time, new friendships, Italian culture, and the kind of cycling I love, the kind that hurts, but somehow makes you smile at the same time. Even if I’m the one behind the camera these days, you still end up suffering and enjoying it just the same.

I’ve realised that when I cover an event, I spend less time looking for “epic” moments and more time looking for honest ones. Because that’s usually where the real story lives. Grappa Odyssey gave me plenty of both.

LET‘S RIDE TOGETHER ⛰️

We’ll start in Bern at 05:00. Together we’ll roll out of the city at daybreak towards Steffisburg, where the first climb awaits us. On narrow roads we’ll go via Heiligenschwändi to Sigriswil and across Grön to Beatenberg. After a beautiful descent into Interlaken, we’ll reach the first feed station at the Fingerscrossed Van around 08:00. There will be coffee and croissants, and we’ll also have some Maurten products for the ride ahead.

After a short stop, we continue to Meiringen and then climb up the Grosse Scheidegg.

05:00 is early, and that’s intentional. For those who can’t make it that early to Bern, or who only want to ride the Grosse Scheidegg, the meeting point is around 08:00 in Interlaken at the Fingerscrossed Van (free parking with limited spaces. Google Maps: 46°40’38.3”N 7°51’06.5”E)

after months of winter grinding on the indoor trainer, these rides feel like therapy. 🌅

nothing beats the feeling of being back on the road, breathing the fresh air and soaking in the golden hour. the transition from the garage to the open road is the ultimate reset.

Not every story starts in the city.
Sometimes it begins on a quiet field, a local pitch, a corner where nothing big ever happens until it does.
———
Out here, movement means connection.
Every step, every kick, every run across the small-town streets echoes further than we think.
———
Adidas is not only for the spotlight.
It’s for those who make their mark where the world rarely looks.
———
The kids training after school on gravel courts.
The cyclists chasing sunset on country roads.
The friends turning empty fields into arenas of dreams.
———
Big impact, small place - same energy.
