A 2023 wrap up post journaled in August, 2023

This month was wholesomely good thanks to God, the resilient owner of this account(let’s not forget to pat ourselves on the shoulder, okay?😅) and the ones who overtly + covertly stand with me making sure my smiles reach my eyes.✊🏽

A few things got me in my feelings:

1. A year ago, I made my debut as an Artist in Belgium. Feet wet, but fully led that it was the next outlet to express my creativity. While it set my soul on fire from excitement and has ever since, Day 1 had my heart beating loudly with my palms sweaty as I mentally pushed myself to draw up my one year strategy plan. Telling myself, “You must do it afraid” as I typed plans to have my first @OyinFierce_Studio exhibition within a year. When the opportunity came peeping 😅through @FONNigeria Naija party. I carpe diem’d* it, lol. Best believe nothing was more enlightening & shocking than when I looked at people admiring my works and making enquiries. Look it just felt like I didn’t paint them even though my back would protest at that😂, I got this almost otterworldly feeling that made me teary that night.

2. The 3rd slide is the best feedback ever(like no Take 2 & shii) in the last year on my recent designs.

S/O to Angel for the encouragement & Ese for coming to support me at my first mini exhibition.💖

One thing is clear though, HE has just started. So, this is me reminding myself and everyone reading this .. “You Still Gat The Sauce!☺️Don’t Let The Worries of the World Drown You”

So I’ve been sharing this in groups I’m in for over a month now and forgot to share here [My Apologies😅].

There’s an event being hosted by the Women in AI and co-funded by the European Union this time. Also this time next week starting 10am.
The session is titled:

“AI Is Not Neutral: Designing Systems That Work for Everyone.”

There will be engaging conversations around perspectives across AI, policy and real-world implementation.

Recently, I have been having flashbacks of my childhood that’s made me appreciate you more than everrr. I realise my childhood definitely wouldn’t have been amazing if not for your tenacity and praying spirit. If you think I’m strong. You should meet Sisi Caro. Mahma woke up at 4:30am every day to make breakfast just to make it to the island before traffic and would still work all day at the bank only to return home at 11:30, 12am most times😳. How did she do it?😫😭

After months of faffing around with Pilates at home, I decided it was time for the “real” deal. The 1 hour approx. reformer class stretched me😩 as I had never done more than 20mins for a session. 35mins in and I didn’t know when I was speaking Nederlands in a French class.🤣

S/O to my [student days] gym buddy & fellow Asian cuisine lover, Mercy for agreeing immediately to join me for the class and David (1/2) of @Skultstudios for the spontaneous entrepreneurship masterclass.🤗👊🏽You should totally check out their space. 🏆

I was Today’s years old when I found out(literally this week) that gym withdrawals are a thing. My yearly membership was due for renewal & I decided to cancel. Omo! My body no just balance 🥹

Is this something you’ve experienced? How did you adjust?

When your part-scientist husband gives you less than two hours to go see a movie called, “Project Hail Mary”.

With pre-shampoo in hair, I tried to negotiate; can it please be tomorrow or next weekend? E say, “No, I can’t wait. Pretty please with a Cherry on top”😅So I threw sum’in together & prettied up”.

🌟 Solid 7.5 outta 10 although not my typa scene. Give me g*ns & fight scenes like the Marvel Avengers & Star Wars/Mandalorian stuff

🔬Today marks the end of one of my 2026 wellness experiments. I did a chemical peel in January [which typically calms my acne] yet, I kept breaking out so I knew it was internal.

I stripped my routine all the way down; no creams, no lotions, no brightening scrubs, just to see what food alone could do for my skin.

🎯Main Finds? Nutrition is powerful. Consistent herbs & seeds cycling to regulate hormones, fruits, veggies, and movement made a visible difference. Less inflammation, more balance.

⤵️That said, winter reared its ugly head 😅
A bit of dryness and slight strawberry texture showed up. Nothing dramatic—just a reminder that while internal care is the foundation, external support still has its place.

💫 Back to my staples as of tonight, but with a deeper understanding that, what you eat or do really does show up on your skin. It signals us everytime. Listen to it. ❤️
