So many emotions were pouring through me as we saw the summit hut come into view. It was great to stand in the same spot my father and I did in 1984, 37 years later. I never dreamed I would be standing here with my own child someday. taken in Mount Whitney Summit 14,505' by @100peaks

There are over 12 years between these two pictures. The first is my daughter’s first hike and where she took her first steps. The second is us sharing our joy at the top of Mount Whitney. In between were a lot of adventures, mistakes, and collections of experiences. And love. Lots of that, too. by @100peaks

Just got back from four nights with @dreamer2000at in the Sierra. We stayed in a remote basin and explored off trail for miles. The company was great and the weather was perfect. taken in Inyo National Forest by @100peaks

I accomplished two amazing things this week:

1. Spent a few days backpacking in the Sierra with my wife and daughter in one of my favorite places.

2. Got to the top of that large mountain in the middle with my daughter.

Enjoyed a wonderful night watching @deathcabforcutie at Gallagher Square in downtown San Diego. It was a gorgeous venue, a lovely evening, and the band sounded even better than the last time I saw them 20 years ago. A great birthday present from my wife, who totally gets me. (Birthday was months ago, btw) taken in Gallagher Square by @100peaks
