On this day in 2022, long before the Spurs would win the NBA Draft Lottery and earn the right to select Victor Wembanyama, I began speaking it into existence.

Gervin.
Robinson.
Duncan.
Wembanyama.

I said Wemby would be a Spur.

And I didn’t just say it once. If you knew me or listened to me on the radio back then, you know this is true. I talked about it constantly. I believed it.

I believed it so much that months before the Spurs actually landed him, I ordered a custom Spurs jersey with WEMBANYAMA on the back.

Was I crazy? Maybe a little. 😂

But I had a vision. And I refused to let go of it.

Then the ping-pong balls bounced to San Antonio. And the dream became reality.

I keep this old post because it reminds me of something bigger than basketball:

Words have power.
Thoughts have power.
Dreams have power.

Sometimes you have to see something before you can see it.

Sometimes you have to believe in the possibility before there is any evidence that it will happen.

Sometimes you have to be willing to say the dream out loud.

So dream big.
Speak possibility into your life.

Believe in something that seems impossible.

Because every once in a while, the universe bounces the ping-pong balls your way.

Dreams can come true.
