More than 300 pounds grown in Mantua. 🌱

Our garden at 12th Street Catering was created in partnership with @trellisfortomorrow , whose work helps communities across the region grow food and share the harvest. We’re grateful to everyone who tends the garden and helps get its produce to our neighbors.

Still basking in the sweetness and joy of our Heritage Dinner. The finale of so many of the pastry chefs who brought their cakes to honor Rose Levy Beranbaum was glorious! Special thanks to @fantes9thstreet for sponsoring and the many Dames who helped organize and produce our desserts. Shout out to pastry chef @katehoneyman who brought her cakes and @walnuthillcollege pastry students to help cut hundreds of cake tastes, to @compulsivebaker (Rachel Sherman) for coordinating it all, Leslie McLaughlin from @franklinfountain for rallying the troops, and Chef/teacher Kelli Payne for leading the massive cake slicing! Who can forget Franklin Fountain’s Honey Comb ice cream or the nectarine intermezzo from Gab Cordone from the @thebentspoon . Thanks to @burlapandbarrel for their chef gifts. (Their cinnamon is the best!) we have so much gratitude for all the talent shared and for the celebration of our honorees, @realbakingwithrose, @canalhouse founders, Melissa Hamilton and Christopher Hirsheimer and @micheleleff12 from @12stcatering

An afternoon of culinary dreams celebrating women chefs, trail blazers all, mentors, innovators, who are leading the way for the next generation of talent. For who are we without the hands that lift us up? The hands that shape dough, grow and prep vegetables, work with animals, manage kitchens, dining rooms, vendors? We are still tallying the total amount we’ve raised for our next round of scholarships. But this year was a record breaker. Showing up for our community 💚

As part of 12th Street for Good, members of our team volunteered their time to clean up the Powelton Village and Mantua neighborhoods surrounding our West Philadelphia commissary.

Together, our crew hit the streets, picked up trash and gave a little extra care to the neighborhood we are proud to call home.

For us, making a positive impact starts right here, in the communities where we live and work.

A morning worth celebrating! ✨

We had such a great time welcoming @fox29philly Good Day Philadelphia’s @bobkellyfox29 and @lesdamesphl to the 12th Street Catering ahead of this Sunday’s Heritage Dinner.

Our very own Michele Leff will receive the Outstanding in Her Field Award, and our culinary team created something special for the occasion: Chicken Mole inspired by 12th Street’s beginnings at Reading Terminal Market. Chef Juan even put Bob to work making the mole sauce that will accompany the dish at Sunday’s dinner!

We also celebrated fellow honoree Rose Levy Beranbaum, acclaimed author of The Cake Bible, with local bakers showcasing incredible cakes inspired by her work and lasting influence.

Great food, great energy, and an even greater reason to celebrate. We cannot wait to honor Michele, Rose, and Canal House this Sunday!
