Some of the best things you get from jiu jitsu have nothing to do with the technique you learned that day.

It’s the people.

The ones who see you walk in and immediately ask if you want a round.
Who know your game well enough to make you work for everything.
Who expose the holes you’ve been trying very hard to pretend aren’t there. 😂
Who push you without turning every roll into the ADCC finals.
Who notice when you’re getting better.
Who are genuinely happy when you finally hit the thing they’ve watched you struggle with for months.

And somewhere between trying to choke each other and arguing about whether that was actually a sweep, they become your people. 💜

That’s one of my favorite things about jiu jitsu.

You show up because you want to learn how to grapple.

Then you realize the people you’re doing all those rounds with become a pretty big part of why you keep coming back.

So value the people who save you a round.

And if you need some people to train with, come get some rounds at @12stjiujitsu . 💜

We’ll be happy to see you walk through the door. And then probably try to choke you. 😂

Adding another weapon to his arsenal 🐍🔥

Javi’s first straight ankle lock attempt in competition and he was able to get the finish at @lwschampionship

Watch the ankle switch during the setup 👀 Small adjustment, big difference.

Always learning. Always improving.

What do you think of the setup?

Thanks to Coach @jiuboi88 for stepping in to help coach 🔥

Thanks coach @josemunoz88 for investing in his success 🔥 we know you would've made it on time, they were just an hour early.
