Tuesday night training was all about our Canadian friends who are still in Ireland sharing their training advice with the lads. Cory, Captain of the Regina Oathbreakers and Julian captain of @macecompanymanitoba led training before their trip home. Safe travels folks and thanks for being part of this Tournament we hope to see you next year 🇨🇦

The Mace and Seal of Athenry 🇮🇪

A little bit of BI history was made in Ireland this past weekend as The Mace and Seal of Athenry became the first Buhurt International event held in the country!

Set against the incredible backdrop of Athenry Castle, the tournament welcomed fighters from across Ireland, the UK and as far as Canada for a full day of duelling, competition and community.

A huge congratulations to all medalists, and to Patrick Cory Depaulo and Ellen Twomey, who received the Outstanding Fighter Awards not only for their performances, but for the support, sportsmanship and camaraderie they showed throughout the event.

And a massive well done to 1316 - Medieval Fight Club and everyone involved behind the scenes for bringing BI to Ireland for the first time and setting such a strong foundation for what comes next ⚔️

The first one is officially in the books, hopefully the first of many!

*edit - results mixed up. These are corrected*

Congratulations to our winners. Great fights by all who came.

Ellen and Cory won their awards not just based on their fighting prowess but also their support of other fighters round after round and that’s what we in 1316 love to see. No corner empty at round’s end and words of encouragement and advice ready to go. Well done ⚔️ taken in Athenry, Ireland by @1316mfc

We are very happy of announce that our first @buhurt.international event has been a great success. Our lads put in a lot of work in the lead up to the event and put in a great shift today, if they were finished fighting it was straight into the yellow hoods and hats to join the Marshalling team. We’re very thankful to you all. Special congratulations to our @shaneegan64 for passing his test and becoming our third regional marshal. 🎉

Thank you for the support from the Irish teams for their fighters and Marshals from @na_bananaigh @fragaracharmouredcombat and @knightsofmunster
Your commitment to fight shows us you believe in what we’re trying to build and we hugely appreciate it.
