It's a bit silly to hoard photos and never post them! I'll probably go back through past events in the off season and get my favorites from those as well.

Claregalway Shield 2026

Some absolute highlights from the last two weekends:
• Gold car, Gold medals? (Maybe next time) Definitely more room for Armour!
• Another amazing @twentyonepilots concert with my amazing friends @matt_davidson98 and @the_smol_one
• Finally got to be on a team with two people in Buhurt I hugely admire and respect @jd_swords and @matt_davidson98 and I hope there’s many more to come!
• My two best friends finally got to witness the world of Buhurt. My beautiful fair maidens were incredible support and I’m so happy to have @mother_mai_i and @xx_g00se_xx in my life!!
• Another year, another tournament with my mother shouting “KILL” at me (she’s got the spirit!) and my dad grinning like a Cheshire Cat at wallop after wallop. Win or lose, they are always in my corner. 💙💛
• Always a shoutout to my incredible sister @mand.y271 for letting many of us take over her house, talk armour and ghost stories, drink a lot of wine and eat a lot of cheese. The best ever that one could ask for!
• All around another amazing Shield with incredible people and amazing experiences. It’s one of the best days of the year and it certainly did not disappoint. Every year it exceeds expectations and that’s all thanks to an incredible @medieval_combat_irl and the incredible Knight Marshal and all the other marshals keeping us safe. Thank you to everyone who turned up and gave it their all in fights, in support, and in presence. All of it was truly appreciated ❤️💛💚🩶

Now it’s time to nurse my tournament tradition (Dora’s Axe wound) and get ready for the next season.

In mid-August the temperatures in England were soaring, so it was only natural that a delegation of marshals and fighters descended on Athenry in Ireland 🇮🇪 for @1316mfc inaugural Tournament of the Mace and Seal, the first official @buhurt.international tournament held in Ireland. Reasonable temperatures abounded. It even rained a bit!

Mary and Danny George were integral in the planning of this event, helping to train a team of Irish marshals, and travelling to support, Knight Marshalling and overseeing the tournament unfold.

Not only that, but Leviathan Duelling made a splash in their first tournament. It’s always great to see new teams coming through, and putting more and more fighters into the national and international arena.

Results:

Longsword:
Ed Wilkinson 🥉

Sword & Buckler:
Glenn Burden 🥉

The Mace and Seal of Athenry 🇮🇪

A little bit of BI history was made in Ireland this past weekend as The Mace and Seal of Athenry became the first Buhurt International event held in the country!

Set against the incredible backdrop of Athenry Castle, the tournament welcomed fighters from across Ireland, the UK and as far as Canada for a full day of duelling, competition and community.

A huge congratulations to all medalists, and to Patrick Cory Depaulo and Ellen Twomey, who received the Outstanding Fighter Awards not only for their performances, but for the support, sportsmanship and camaraderie they showed throughout the event.

And a massive well done to 1316 - Medieval Fight Club and everyone involved behind the scenes for bringing BI to Ireland for the first time and setting such a strong foundation for what comes next ⚔️

The first one is officially in the books, hopefully the first of many!
